Scout Ohio Pre-Season Rankings

1. Marshon Lattimore
2. Kyle Berger
3. Parris Campbell
4. Sam Hubbard
5. Dante Booker
6. Daniel Cage
7. Erick Smith
8. Jimmy Byrne
9. Vayante Copeland
10. Michael Ferns
12. Kyle Trout
33. Marcelys Jones

Interesting that in a supposedly down year for Ohio hs football every committed player in the top 50 is going to a BCS school. Agree on M. Jones. I guess Meyer and Saban have something to learn from SCOUT with regard to player evaluation. :wink2:

jones is #33 in OHIO? ok

I'd look more at where he's ranked among OL....

1. Jimmy Byrne (ND)
2. Kyle Trout
3. Alex Dalton (Oklahoma)
4. Ryan Stout (Cincinnati)
5. Jon Bezney
6. Danny Burns (Louisville)
7. Marcelys Jones

I'm sure the Bank had plenty of input on these rankings....he hasn't been shy in the past regarding Jones needing to get in better shape (which he has, but still needs to work) & not take plays off. Not sure I agree with him being 7th among the OL, but it is what it is. Marcelys will prove himself one way or another during his senior year and in college.

I think Bank is just living in the past on this one. That might have been true, but Jones showed up and dominated at many camps summer against good competition. He still has a little ways to go in some regards but anything lower than 4 stars and in the top 15 is ridiculous to me. Guy gets engaged and just drives defenders into the ground, speed markedly quicker feet this summer, and showed he is not afraid to compete regularly against top talent. Really think he will be a phenomenal interior OL at the next level if he puts in the work.

Otherwise, I really like that list.

I note that this thread has the words "etc" and "rankings" in the title.

Report: Condoleezza Rice to be part of football playoff selection committee
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is expected to be part of the selection committee that will pick the teams for the College Football Playoff next year, a source told The Associated Press

Has this person coached football before? Has the person played football before? Does this person have ties to the PAC-10 in any way?

Rice, 58, a professor of political economy at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, has made no secret of being a sports fan — college and pro. She frequently attends Stanford athletic events and meets with many of the athletes, including football players being recruited by the school. She has been a volunteer coach for the golf team.

She recruits football players and is a golf coach where Tiger used to play? Is this really relevant?

On the other hand, this person "might" have an innate appreciation for the nuances of field position, punt centered, Tressel Ball?

Role in authorizing use of torture techniques
A Senate Intelligence Committee reported that on July 17, 2002, Rice met with CIA director George Tenet to personally convey the Bush administration's approval of the proposed waterboarding of alleged Al Qaeda leader Abu Zubaydah. "Days after Dr Rice gave Mr Tenet her approval, the Justice Department approved the use of waterboarding in a top secret August 1 memo."[62] Waterboarding is considered to be torture by a wide range of authorities, including legal experts,[63][64][65][66] war veterans,[67][68] intelligence officials,[69] military judges,[70] human rights organizations,[71][72][73][74][75][76][77][78] the U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder,[79] and many senior politicians, including U.S. President Barack Obama.[80]

http://www.the-ozone.net/recruiting/Football2012_14/Rankings_Rivals.html

.... Recruitnicks follow four main outlets: Rivals, Scout, 24/7, and ESPN. Major newspapers are now hiring beat writers that cover recruiting and online football sites, so the landscape of recruiting and its coverage is going up.

In this issue of the-Ozone’s football recruiting, I want to explore one of the main outlets ranking system—Rivals— in the hopes to help fans better understand how they crown their recruiting champion ....

Big Movers in Rivals250

Biggest move related to OSU is Glenville's Erick Smith moving from 195 to 122.

There were 27 B1G commits listed in the Top 250 either before or after this update -- Rivals managed to bump 20 of them down while 5 went up and two stayed the same. Let the rising tide for uncommitted guys commence!

4* Buckeye commits with old/new rankings:

Webb: 32/36
Knox: 35/39
Samuel: 44/46
Holmes: 50/57
Booker: 71/65
Jones, J: 108/110
Trout: 198/188
Brown: 212/216
Jones, M.: NR/240
Berger: 224/NR
McLaurin: NR/NR

Surprised by McLaurin. I thought he would be the Big Splash type towards the end of the cycle now that game film and playoffs are in. I think he looks very legit and if you can't rank that then what can you rank?
