Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

Just over at the UM boards and their heads are deep in the sand. This is all created by WVU because of their hostility. And the "eye witness" is after all, a mountaineer.

You certainly have to give RR the proverbial benefit of the doubt, but if the records have in fact been destroyed you have to ask why would anyone, even RR, do so. Did he shred records last year when he accepted the Alabama job? As I read it the absence of these records could actually do damage to the kids themselves. Why do this? Cover up? Be a bit more selective.

I must also admit that despite my eternal bashing of all things UM I do have a lot of respect for their program and what they stand for. There are people at UM who care deeply about integrity and they have to be looking at this with their own set of questions.

Further, from everything I have seen from RR the past two years I believe he will do whatever it takes to succeed - including violation of recruiting rules - many of which are not at all clear cut. He is under tremendous pressure to bring in kids for this class who fit his scheme. Word is he has just been to Parkersburg. We know he is hot after TP.

The veracity of this latest story is quite relevant to the Buckeye nation.

Mr. Integrity at it again

Its just crazy how this douche bag can treat his alma mater, tells you something about his loyalty and character

Ya know, it seems to me unlikely that Coach Dickwad would take the time to destroy those types of files. What seems more likely to me is that about the same time he left he had some assistants or others help him "move" his stuff out of town. I could envision some lackeys taking everything in the private office out, as time was of the essence. I would bet that they will be "found" and returned.

If he did do what some accuse him of, it is obviously indefensible.

Maybe its just me, but once all is said and done, I don't get the feeling that Rodriguez will ever coach a game for Michigan.

I think your crazy, someone will pay off someone blah blah blah, but RR will not be able to do this scUM (years from now, maybe not many)beacause no one will want him after he does nothing up there but break .500, beat ND, and maybe win a pre-new year bowl game every once in a while.

For me it boils down to this, how often do people truely change? In my experience its rarely if ever.

If a guy is shady at one place do you think he's going to walk the straight and narrow at the next place? Especially when there is more pressure to win?

Did Erickson get in trouble at just one school or multiple? Neuhisel(sp)? Kelvin Sampson straigthen up at IU? Switzer ever turn a new leaf?

Regardless of specific charges, and to what degree they are accurate, I think its pretty obvious from this whole fiasco, and some stuff insiders have put out there about his recruiting, that RR's integrity is questionable at best.

Sooner or later(probably sooner) the pressure to win at scUM mixed with his already lax moral compass is going to get him, and by extension scUM, into trouble. Its a matter of when, not if.

When it happens the Harvard of the Midwest is going to have people asking why they hired a guy with such a spotty background. The answers should be fun.

something doesn't make sense...it was his alma mater and this all happens...tricky dick has some explaining to do
Rich (As in Rodriguez), Rick (As in Neuheisel), Pacman Jones, Chris Henry, Noel Devine...

Oh, if you wanna go even deeper: Offered Alabama job, which was taken by Nick Saban, which is almost Nick Satan, which is almost Rick Satan, which is almost Rich Satan. Hence, Rich is Satan.

It is like a puzzle that never ends. You can always link this guy to some sort of bad stuff.

Football player files missing
Fingers point to Rodriguez
I hate to sound like an apologist for DickRod, whom I abhor. Nonetheless, since when would all files relating to a student-athlete (including recruitment, grades, etc.) properly reside in the head coach's office?

There is more to this story than has appeared in the press. If there is malfeasance, it is highly unlikely that it is solely on the part of the former Mountaineer head coach; there is almost certainly culpability elsewhere within the athletic department or elsewhere in the university.

Read also that other assistants were implicated in the destruction of records - so MaxBuck, you are right, it wasn't just Wadriguez, there were others.

It was, in short, a conspiracy.

Where's the grassy knoll?

This will be fun to watch unfold. From what I've seen on UM boards, a vast majority of people are playing ostrich with the whole situation...some are even justifying how he's handled the situation which is just laughable. However, there does appear to be a limited number of people who can step back from the situation and say "what the fuck have we gotten ourselves into?". They are of course quickly attacked by the rest who scream that this whole thing is a "witch hunt"...what ever the fuck that means.

Bottom line is that it is pretty damn hard to deny that this guy is a grade-A asshole with very questionable judgement/morals. This may end very ugly for both parties. Either way, UM fans need to drop the holier-than-thou attitude most of them like to carry because they're in bed with a fucking snake.

With all the crap that is going on with RR I never want to hear anything from a Michigan fan regarding JT and Mo C or Troy Smith and the $500. They are in danger if they haven't already of losing the moral high ground....

For those of us who have worked in executive postitions in big companies, when have you EVER seen an outgoing President (or whatever) schred docs????? NEVER. You just do not do that shit or you are going to be bitch slapped by the companies attnys. Seriously, I have worked for some big assed Banks, and whenever someone is let go, or quits, they take their pictures and they are escorted out.

  • You are not allowed to take prospect lists they are company property
  • You are not allowed to take any company information that is not public
  • You are not alllowed to take any customer records
  • You are not allowed to touch anything
I am so sick of these Desperate Housewife watching blathering fucking UM idiots say "well all executives shred docs duh huh duh huh". Guess what, no they fucking don't unless you want to go to court.

1) How STUPID is WV to let this guy back in his office unsupervised for a long period of time the day after he backed out from his contract? Seriously, what a bunch of slackers.

2) How fucking dumb is RR to think that he would not get in trouble.

WV and RR are both fucking IDIOTS and should be killed....well maybe just de-balled.

Also interesting to remember that it was still up in the air whether RR would coach the bowl game, even after he accepted the UM job. He was scheduled to resign like Jan. 4, and then moved it up to like Dec. 17 kinda out of the blue. So he would have had access to the office as the head coach at least till he resigned.
