"Our numbers are down as far as the number of guys we think are ready to play. I think we'll have more guys ready to play, so if we get some guys banged up it shouldn't be as tough for us."

When some Buckeye fans nearly lost all hope, you were there for them. They thought, "Hey, can this Tressel guy be all that good? Even if he is, would those guys up north hire a loser to take over from VLLLoyd?"
But, they were wrong. You did and, hey, they love you for it. It's not a love that will not stand the test of time.
Don't listen to your detractors. Hold that rope! All in! Your REAL fans are right here on BP!
Now, you just go on out there and do what you do so well!

So many times today I heard the same bull[censored] that is spewed by Michigan fans about this guy. Is this all a defense, because he has yet to win [censored] in the Big Ten? I just don't get it.
What would happen to big-time college sports if, say, just half of the TV experts told the truth?
During the second half of UConn-Michigan on ABC/ESPN on Saturday, analyst Matt Millen concluded a chat about Michigan?s poor start under ex-West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez by suggesting that things should improve now that Rodriguez, in his third year at Ann Arbor, has a team predominated by his recruits.
?You want your type of players,? Millen firmly declared, ?and that?s going to take some time.?
And that was that.
But what type of player is Rodriguez?s type of player? In his six years as the head coach at West Virginia, the program became a crime wave, with felony drug arrests, weapons arrests, breaking-and-enterings, assaults against women and other students, theft of students? property, credit card theft, obstructing a police officer.
Muhammad Howard, who played for Rodriguez at West Virginia, was arrested for selling guns without a license. One of Rodriguez?s top recruits to West Virginia, Raymond Williams, was never able to enroll ? he already had been charged in a robbery/murder.
And two of the NFL?s most notorious recidivist criminals, Pacman Jones and the late Chris Henry, were Rodriguez recruits to West Virginia.
In June, Demar Dorsey, recruited by Rodriguez to Michigan, was denied admission because of two felony arrests for home invasion. Already, several Rodriguez recruits to Michigan have posed for pictures and left their prints down at the police station ? drugs, assaults, robberies, the usual.
Are these the types of players Millen was referring to? If so, Michigan students might consider transferring to Michigan State, except State, the college that gave us Plaxico Burress, has been a criminal mill, too.
And what?s Millen?s ?type of player?? As general manager of the Lions he wasted the second overall draft pick in 2003 on Michigan State wide receiver Charles Rogers, a criminal who also specialized in fathering children with different women. Last heard, Rogers was in jail.
But we must be very careful not to insult any of these schools nor their multimillion-dollar coaches. And nothing is more insulting than the truth.
