Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

Everyone has an opinion about Rich Rodriguez, and no one's budging

Everyone always says that Rich Rodriguez will be fine at Michigan if he just starts winning. But is there anything ELSE he should be doing to cool his hot seat?
Anyone else out there watching the final season of "Lost"? Some people argue that it?s the greatest television program ever and the final season is its Mona Lisa. Some people argue that it has gone wildly off the tracks and has ruined the legacy of a once-great show. And some are just sitting back and will judge it when the people finally leave the island ? or the island finally leaves the people ? or the people and the island become one ? or whatever is going to happen.

You probably can see where I?m going. And it?s probably a little clearer than what?s going to happen on the island. There are three camps now at Michigan. There are the Rich Rod people who think he?s being persecuted and is being held to a double-standard. Then there is the anti-Rich Rod sect that thinks he's a snake oil salesman who has ruined Michigan football to the point that no amount of winning can undo what he?s done the last two years. And finally, there is a group (of which I?m a member) that's surprised by just how bad it has gotten in Ann Arbor but is curious to see how it plays out from here.

And nothing is going to change our minds -- any of us.

RR's weekly assurance that he is still coach.

Michigan AD Dave Brandon again says Rich Rodriguez's job safe

Wherever he is, and whoever he bumps into, new Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon fields the same questions about Rich Rodriguez and the NCAA probe of his football program. Brandon, who took over the job in early March, has repeatedly said he backs Rodriguez, who after two seasons is 8-16 and been the focus of an NCAA investigation. But he continues to have to respond to questions about his support for Rodriguez.
Michigan is facing five potential major violations under Rodriguez's watch.

"I understand it, but it's amazing to me that people keep asking the question wondering if they will get a different answer, and they're not," Brandon said Monday at the Pizza House following a radio appearance. "So they can keep asking it over and over and over again, and they're not going to get a different answer."

Jamie Morris, however, is looking for work.

Jamie Morris no longer working for Michigan athletic department

Former Michigan running back great Jamie Morris is no longer working for the Michigan athletic department, several sources have confirmed.
Morris had been a development officer for the department and assisted in fund-raising.
Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon today informed department members via email that Morris is no longer working for the university. No reasons were given.

"We don't talk about personnel issues," Bruce Madej, Michigan associate athletic director for media relations said when contacted Tuesday.
Morris could not be reached.
Morris is third on Michigan's all-time career rushing list with 4,392 yards behind Mike Hart and Anthony Thomas.
