Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

What's all the fuss? Nobody spies like us

? Only two years ago, a West Virginia student was caught spying on a Marshall practice. The kid had a notebook full of the office and cell phone numbers of the West Virginia coaches. No word, though, on if the student had a job waiting for him in Ann Arbor.

Did this student also spy on Pitt before last year's game? Let's see if the OSU athletic dept brings the guard dogs out of retirement.

Rich Rodriguez 'pleads ignorance' on No. 1 jersey controversy, which is no longer an issue

BY MARK SNYDER ? FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER ? May 21, 2008

....

When pressed about the conversations and whether there's a gentleman's agreement to avoid committed recruits, Rodriguez stood his ground. "We didn't write an agreement down. ... That's what I got a kick out of. I didn't see any memos across the desk, and nobody could recollect anything."
....

So Rodriguez doesn't consider an agreement to exist unless it is written down. Hmm...

Yet doesn't consider a written agreement to count even if he signs the same ... hmm indeed.

[sarcasm]
But it must be only we Ohio State fans that see this. No one could objectively look at those two positions and see any contradiction.

Huh. that's pretty neat. If I was coaching at Ohio State I would probably acquiant myself with them.. maybe not though. Depends on how strong a personality I had paired with a "my way or the highway attitude."

Do the players care about any of this? If they do, I might take them a little more seriously. I'd hate to create an image problem.
