Rich Rodriguez (official thread of last laughs)

bad press sells papers. i don't believe anything that doesn't come from him.

Ah. I see. In December 2006, Rich Rodriguez stated on a sports radio program (Metro State Sportsline, if you want to look it up), "I plan on being at West Virginia the rest of my career."

I guess you must have believed him. After all, it came directly from him--no sportswriters to screw it up and turn it into bad press.

What if he said [comment deleted on poster request].

EDIT: I really shouldn't have posted this. I went to far. Please don't read the above post.

Michigan fans would probably be cool with that as long as he can beat the Bucks :)

[sarcasm]He said "I plan on being at West Virginia the rest of my career", not "I will be at West Virginia the rest of my career".[/sarcasm]

I think we should let these guys have their honeymoon and their inflated expectations. That just makes it more fun in the end.

You're right, M&B -- RR's magical offense will confuse Tressel and the rest of the Big Ten coaches. Punch your ticket to the BCS title game now, my friend. You and the U of M alumni association are on the right track, and you've picked the right guy. Really, we're just hatin' because we're scared of the epic lulz RR is going to spin out in his post-game pressers.

Seriously, you guys made a fantastic hire. Congratulations and enjoy the coming decades of glory for "the victors and the best". We'll just sit down here in Columbus and stew with envy at the genius that is the Rodriguez era.

Ah, 6-1...three BCS title games...back-to-back Big Ten titles....it was so good while it lasted... :( Darn that crazy wizard and his magic offense!!!

Like a thief in the night

Just the record... photos of RR's late-night escape from Morgantown.

Like a thief in the night. Rich Rodriguez Photos

December 16, 2007

(Thanks to Woody Hayes for the photos) Here is Rich Rodriguez slipping out of Morgantown headed to his Michigan meeting. I have been told that these are cell phone pictures, which explains the poor quality, and it was very cold.

Former West Virginia University football coach Rich Rodriguez's deposition in his ongoing lawsuit against West Virginia University has been released.
Officials made the 331 page testimony available for the first time today.
The Rodriguez deposition, which took place on April 21 in Romulus, Michigan, is the second of many which will be released over the next several weeks. The deposition of West Virginia University Athletic Director Ed Pastilong was released last week......

those are pictures of him after he announced he was taking the michigan job.

Umm... yeah... is there another time when he escaped from Morgantown?

EDIT: I realize the pics and link are a bit old (+/-6 months) but I thought I'd post them since I'm such a huge fan of his escapades...

i thought you were referring to the time he snuck out for a meeting about "finances" in Toledo.

I thought so too (at first), but reading through the whole article changed my mind. The fact that it seems that he has his family in tow is also key.

In either case, I think they're interesting pics (not for the content but for the context)... in that one would never think that the HC at an elite football program like TSUN would have to steal away from his alma mater in the dark of the night. One would think all parties would be above these things, but what do I know... I'm just a simpleton Buckeye!
