Reds tidbits 2015 (morgue)

Usually my apathy for the Reds doesn't kick in until July when summer NFL camps start to open up. But I am in full swing now. I have tickets for games in July and August and I couldn't possibly care any less if I use then or not. Thanks Bob, Walt. You've over paid for old players. You've over paid for young players who don't work or don't care. You've over paid for injured players. But you've made up for it with more bobble head giveaways.

id love to say ill take the tix off your hands but honestly id rather go see the Columbus Clippers play than cincy. congrats Bob n Walt

I'll take them off your hands as long as you pay for my gas, parking, and food. Plus an allowance for pain & suffering.

I was at the game last night. I was one of a handful of Reds fans there not ashamed to show some support for this hapless team. Saw more Ohio State gear than Reds gear....lol. It's getting harder and harder though as you watch this team go through the motions when things don't go their way early in ball games. Same issues as long as I can remember: unproductive outs, don't have enough contact hitters, can't manufacture runs except for the HR, players don't seem engaged.... The list goes on an on.

They just seem to be going thru the motions right now. And have been for a while. The Royals have not had back-to-back shutouts in 23 years and after shutting out the yanks over the weekend and the Reds Tuesday, they were one pitch away from shutting out the Reds again last night. The Royals are rolling here in KC right now and I'm not quite sure if the last two days were just the Royals playing really good baseball or the Reds just sucking so bad but I'm leaning towards the latter after watching this team perform last night 2 nights and the past 3 seasons. I never thought there was a team out there that could supplant the Reds as my favorite team but ownership is really making it difficult with their personnel and contract decisions year after year.

I've been a follower of the Royals for 6 years now and watching this organization suffer much like the Cleveland organizations, it is fun to see what is happening right now in KC. So, for all you worn out Reds fans who are ready to jump ship......consider the Royals. They are fun to watch. They have great pitching, they hit for average, showing more power than years past, they flash the leather every night, they play for the name on the front of their jerseys and the city and not for the name on the back of it, ownership continues to make good moves w/o breaking the bank on any one player, and most of all they enjoy playing the game. All you can ask for as a fan.

I've been watching the Royals current team play ball as often as I can the past 2-3 years.

Absolutely love watching them play, they are the anti-Reds

Jax: I think a lot of it has to with all the home-grown talent they still have on the roster, a lot of $ friendly contracts and no huge contract guys underperforming (or should I say no large contracts at all). The Royals farm system has been near tops in baseball the past decade; accumulating high draft talent bc they have been so bad. The majority of this team has had success at every level together except at the highest level. They were so eager to finally get over the hump that when they pulled out that wild card game against OAK last year and made their improbable run to the World Series, it's like they were playing for a greater cause. They have carried all that momentum into this season and are running with it. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them back in the World Series again this year.

agree completely.

They play like they know they belong. Confidence is a big deal in all sports but especially baseball.

Look at Mustakis.

Getting tossed exchanging lineup cards... How the fuck does that help the Reds?

Diverts attention away from the lineup, for starters.

I had a NASCAR game on the original Xbox that allowed you to turn your car around and drive head-on into traffic. As soon as the flag dropped I'd never actually race, I'd make a U-turn and wreck the shit out of everything. That's the mode Bryan Price is in right now.
