Reds tidbits 2014 (official thread of windshield licking)

Well the pain, humiliation and loathing all pick back up on Monday when the Cards come to town for an early season gangbang on the 12-13 minor leaguers the Reds will run out there.

Aside from the usual entertainment of Opening Day in Cincinnati and the anticipation of what trick the Reds will pull from their endless bag of fail in the inevitable loss, I am most interested in watching Johnny Cueto go out there and pull something.

In the spirit of March Madness maybe we can get an office pool going on which inning and what degree of Hyman tear it will be?

I'm going to say 1st inning and complete tear. For the tie-breaker I say he circles the mound 5 times while he's crying this time (which will most likely represent the most exercise the fat little fucker has seen in the past 5 years).

Cast your votes.
Greatest. Opening Day. Fan post. Ever. :slappy:

Joey Votto breaks an ass implant that Kremcheck inserted when he injured his knee trying to slide. The implant is going to leak needing surgery and he'll be out 3 months.

Also, Frazier pulls a lat muscle trying to hit a pitch out in the 3rd inning and is out 4-6 weeks.

Seems about right.

I work up in the Madeira/Symmes township area and swung by a gas station during lunch. The amount of people buying multiple cases of beer and pouring down the highway to tailgate was insane.
I imagine these clowns are going to get absolutely smashed and have been waiting since October to scream "DAMNIT BROXTON - THROW STRIKES!"

Stay off the roads tonight people, be safe if you aren't going to the game.

I don't condone drinking and driving, they should have a DD but for the non drivers, I am not going to judge how a Reds fan deals with the pain.

Two comments regarding the game yesterday, not intended to be trash-talking or trolling at all. These are more like funny observations.

1. I left work earlier to catch the game at a house party with my wife and some friends. During my drive from Mason to Mt. Lookout, I had Reds pregame on. As is tradition, Marty Brenneman had the last word on season predictions. He said that Billy Hamilton will be the 4th Red to win a World Series, win an MVP and be a first ballot HOF player. He also said that the Reds will win 98 games this year. I think Marty had some drinks yesterday.

2. Hamilton may be the fastest player in MLB, but Wainwright found his "swing and miss" zone pretty easily. It was about 2 inches about his shoe laces. Not a lot of Plate discipline yet...
