Reds Tidbits (2013 Season)

Good week for Billy Hamilton finally also. Hopefully the light is coming on. Keep an eye on Perez also. He's also playing LF and leading the bats in the major hitting categories. His last 10 games are pretty good and he's over .300 on the season, batting left handed and playing Left Field. Another few weeks like he's having might get him a closer look in Cincinnati.

Pitching down there pretty much sucks right now though.

The big club needs a push. I would love to see Lutz really figure it out up here but who knows. We seriously need to see the good hippie today not the bad one.

Brewers are a lot like the Reds in their team belief that off speed slop is da devil. Weeks and A Ramirez in particular have had a rough go of it over their careers with him.

Braun of course has an enhanced track record of performance against Arroyo but we shouldn't pay any attention to that. Could be tainted numbers put into the old stat machine by an intern with a grudge.

Assuming he's cleared out all the bong resin from last night, Arroyo has as good a chance as any today (which means he'll be tossing Brewer salads by the third inning).

Paul with a pinch hit homerun. I'm not so sure Heisey has a guaranteed spot when he comes off the DL. He better light it up during his rehab starts. Aww shit, who am I kidding? It's the REDS!

Another interesting move is going to be between Cingrani and Leake. Leake has looked better finally the last few outings. Cingrani has been pretty awesome. Good problem to have I guess getting your ace back and still having one of these guys in the wings.

Fucksty had to come all over himself when making out that lineup card tonight with the L/R/L entire lineup by putting Paul in front of Frazier.

Great pitching by the Marlins walks in two runs for the 3-1 lead. I'll take it.

Boom. Bases clearing double by Paul right on time for a 6-1 lead.

Can't figure out whose spot Cueto is gonna take when he gets back? No problem, just have Homer Bailey throw 124 pitches. His elbow will be sore just in time to make a roster move. That's managing.

Bright side: Think how much money the club will save in contract negotiations once he's damaged goods!

Went and saw Cueto's rehab start for the Dragons last night. He looked pretty good overall. 5 scoreless innings, I think he ended up with 3 hits total, and they were all soft grounders.

It seemed like he was primarily focusing on getting his velocity up on his fastball.

Lets wait on the results of the spinal tap to see how many more months he is out before we get our hopes up.
