Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

I absolutely hate the park. That's not baseball, sorry.

I think Lance Berkman says it best (*ESPN link*):
Cardinals don't dig Marlins' new digs

I don't think a ballpark necessarily has to be nostalgic. That's not the problem with Marlins Park. The problem with it is that it's ugly and it's "features" have very little to do with baseball.

Oh, and it looks like it's also a massive Petco-style cavern that will kill home runs dead. Not that there's anything wrong with that in and of itself, but the pundits might want to revise their predictions that Giancarlo Stanton will win the HR title. Also, I can't imagine people in Miami continuing to flock to the park when most nights might end up as a 2-1 small ball scrapfest.

A savvy coach might have had Hanigan drop one down also, back to back, to get your best runner in scoring position. Hanigan is a pretty good contact hitter but every now and then throwing a curve at the other team is a good thing.
