Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

hope both teams burnout their bullpens for the next week to 10 days. Reds will need all they help they can get over the next 10 games.

Not only is it abundantly clear the Reds are the team with the collective horseshoe up their ass this year, but it's not like they are playing the Yankees and Rangers over the next team games, 4 against Philly, 3 each against STL and Arizona in the next 10.

I guess what I'm saying is, I don't get the point of worrying over the bullpens of the Pirates and WB's since it just doesn't matter when it comes to the Reds at this point, ESPECIALLY with a 7 game lead in the division.

Wandy is pitching? They're burning starters? This is awesome.

I remember the Reds did this with Harang - he was never the same after that. The Pirates were have to play in San Diego tomorrow, they're gonna be in rough shape.

7 can evaporate pretty quick. Just look at Atlanta and the Red Sox last year. In the next 8 games the Reds will face Halladay, Lee, Hamels, Lynn, Garcia, Wainright, and Miley.

If the Reds go 4-4 I'd call it a smashing success ... I don't care what the Phillies' actual W/L record is.

I just finally looked at the box score.

Holliday 0-7
Beltran 2-7
Freese 0-8

I'd really like to know what the situation was that had Matheny lift Allen Craig so Descalso could pinch run.

You don't even really need to look to last year. 1 month ago the Yankees were 9.5 games up on the Rays. Now it's 4.5, and it's not like the Yankees tanked. They played .500 ball.

The Reds are up 6.5 and 8.5 with 40 games left to play. If would not be unheard of for a team to blow a lead like that with 40 games left.

Bottom of 9, tied 2-2, and Craig led off the inning with a single. Not really bad IMO. You play for the win at that point. No one should ever play as if a game will go deep into extra innings, and in no way should think "what if this goes 19?"

The Reds have gotten fat since the all star break and have, off the top of my head, only played 6 games in the last 37 with teams with winning records (WB's and WB's -Pittsurgh Chapter)...I realize how quickly 6.5 games can get burned through...besides...do you have any idea how this thread works??
