Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

I can agree with that. If Walt's picking over the Phillies roster, I'd much rather take Hunter Pence.

Alex Gordon is interesting though because he's 28 and under team control through 2015 with an option year at $12.5m in 2016. Making $6m this season coming off .303/.376/.502 w/ a gold glove in 2011. He would absolutely rake in GABP.

Pence would be nice, but I don't think the Phillies are selling anyone who is signed for next year. They will be a contender next year (at least they think that). They had some horrible luck this year.

I would love Pence, but I have not heard anything about him being on the trading block.

As for Gordon, he would be nice but doesn't play CF. Ludwick has actually not sucked recently. In fact, he is OPSing .900 for his last 150 at bats. You can also bet they would demand Billy Hamilton. This team needs a CF that can get on base. Too bad there are not a lot available. I would take Denard Span if the price was right. Victorino for some used jockstraps. BJ Upton but I think the price will be too high. Sadly, that is it.

Just eight more days until Ludwick turns back into a pumpkin.

At least he picked a good time, with Votto out, to temporarily remove his head from his ass.

As I mentioned before, he has actually been pretty good for almost 2 months. Of course his first 2 months were beyond brutal. Yet he has been playing pretty good ball for a while now. Of course if Jonny Gomes could turn into a every day LF thanks to 1 good month, this means Ludwick will be the Reds starting LF until he is 40.

He's been good enough, long enough recently to fool the Reds into not seeking LF help via trade. After the deadline I'm sure he'll be back to sucking.
