Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

How about this...

1. Hamilton proves he's MLB worthy as a base-runner and defensively as a SS or moves to 2B

2. Cozart shows the ability to play both SS and 2B and plays the one Hamilton doesn't

3. Phillips moves to LF

just saying...it won't happen, but that could potentially be a solution. It doesn't resolve the world of suck that is CF though. And this is a few years down the road, when Phillips range starts to decline a tad at 2nd base as a theoretical.

Really? You send your gold glove second baseman to left field?

Did you see my last sentence?

Phillips won't be a gold glove 2nd baseman forever, he is in his 30s now....just throwing options out there....

If they are going to convert Hamilton to the OF they need to do it now. They can't wait until he's in AAA or the Majors, they need to do it in the lower minors.

I think they'll wait to see if Hamilton hits in AA before making any decision. If he hits then obviously you have to make a decision sooner. If he struggles and his ETA is delayed, then you have more time to figure things out. Regardless, Hamilton will probably be in the minors for 2 more years before he gets a shot at a full time spot on the roster. There is plenty of time for things to shape themselves out.

W/r/t Phillips, I don't see him leaving the infield. If he moves he will move the 3rd base.
