Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

Well they didn't blow it.

Now in Milwaukee we have some dumb fucking little bastard get thrown out trying to steal 2nd with Braun up (who then promptly mashes a solo HR).

6-6

No other sport in the world do managers try and justify their existence and hurt their teams so often. Why the fuck would you be running with Ryan fucking Braun up?

edit
never mind...it was Nyjer Morgan...nuff said

Just reading how Appel decided to go back to Stanford, but that isn't really what caught my eye in the article. I didn't realize there will be "competitive balance" picks added to next years draft, and our merry band of fucktards are part of one of the lucky shitty franchises eligible for those picks. There will be a lottery for 6 picks at the end of round 1 and another lottery for 6 picks at the end of round two. These picks can also be traded. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, MLB is actually allowing draft picks to be traded. Mind you it's only these lottery picks and they can only be traded by the original team (so they can't be traded more than once).

I understand what they are trying to do, but it's just that much more incentive for teams to not spend (the eligibility is based on receiving revenue sharing). The funny thing is St. Louis is on the list of eligible teams.

Jay Bruce with his head up his ass, just like the rest of this team. Should of had a triple but lolly gagged into 2nd. Then should have made it to third on a fly ball to CF, but instead went half way.

This is why Dusty needs to be fired. These guys don't need a pal. They need a boot up their ass.

Properly clearing potential room for Billy Hamilton (eventually)?! I don't believe my eyes! The Reds brass making a move that ACTUALLY makes sense! :yow2:

Slight problem, there is no room in the majors as SS. Heck, there is no room at 2B. Making room in the minors means nothing since he will be continuing to learn a position he won't be able to play with the Reds until about 2017 (assuming the team believes in Cozart, and I hope they believe in him more than Stubbs).

I think Hamilton will be in the Majors sooner than you think. Definitely not this season, but if he's still showing some SERIOUS potential by the next All-Star break, he's got a legitimate shot at cracking the 40 man. The arsenal he brings to the Pro club is something they just don't have.

I'm not saying he couldn't be in the majors. My point is, if he continues to play SS, where are you playing him? Do you sit Cozart?

BTW...I am willing to bet Janish has more to do with his options situation. This is his last year for options, so it's pretty much play him next year in the majors, trade him, or remove him from the 40 man (which would mean releasing him). I don't think this has anything to do with Hamilton. It has more to do with the fact they don't see Janish in the majors again and want to get something out of him.

I'd love to see Cozart and Hamilton split time at SS, and get Hamilton as much reps in the outfield while he's in AA/AAA, just in case. That'd be my perfect way to ease Hamilton into the Majors.

As for Janish, I agree with what you were saying. Best to get some value for him while the value is still there, and I'm glad they snagged up a pitcher, but I'd still like to see a move for an outfielder (which likely won't happen).
