This thread needs more Dallas Latos.

She looks fine now, but she's going to regret all of those arm tattoos someday.

Tremendously bad break(or tear I guess) for the Reds. Now the Reds have to figure out who their closer is with less than two weeks left until opening day and if they want to change course with Chapman.

Personally, I like Marhsall as the new closer, while keeping Chapman as a starter. If Bray's groin keeps nagging him, then obviously Chapman will have to be moved back to the pen. Hopefully Masset can find better form this year, as he will now probably slide back into the 8th inning role.

Has Fat Bastard signed anywhere yet?

One year deal with Blue Jays, but he's not slotted as the closer last I read, since they also picked up Sergio Santos from the White Sox. Hell, they got Darren Oliver too, so they've got three closers on their roster.

I picked him up on my fantasy team. Didn't have a choice in the later rounds. He better get a chance to pitch

Reds traded Juan Francisco to Atlanta for AAA pitcher J.J. Hoover.

My initial reaction is pleasantly surprised as I wanted him traded for anything we could get while he still had some shiny prospect dust on him. I have never once believed he could be a MLB starter. Add in the fact he's out of options and it's an even easier decision.

Hoover has some really good peripherals but his flyball tendencies scare me as well as the fact he's an Atlanta pitcher they are willing to part with. I wouldn't be surprised if his arm fell off his body on the flight to Louisville. If he isn't the usual ATL fuck job then he could be a quality bullpen arm sooner rather than later.

If he is another screwing from the Braves then we really haven't lost much as Francisco was pure shit imo.

Pretty sure he watched Major League and was somehow cursed by Pedro Cerrano.

Wily Mo Pena had the same thing happen to him. What a shame.

WOW

Prince Fielder and Albert Pujols won't be the only first basemen to cash in with historic contracts this offseason. Joey Votto and the Reds are nearing an extension that will keep the first baseman in Cincinnati for a long time, MLBTR's Tim Dierkes and Ben Nicholson-Smith have learned. Dan Lozano of Icon Sports Group represents Votto.

Terms of the deal are not known, but the total contract value could surpass $200MM. Votto will earn a total of $27MM through 2013 on the extension he signed last winter.

Votto, the 2010 NL MVP, has evolved into one of the game's elite players since debuting in 2007. He followed up his MVP season with a .309/.416/.531 line, 29 homers and 40 doubles. The 28-year-old has been a seven win player each of the past two seasons, according to FanGraphs' version of wins above replacement.
