Reds Tidbits (2012 Season)

Chapman isn't too bad

Nothing like throwing away a 8-2 lead in 3 innings.

I have a feeling this game will be one of those defining moments for the year. Either they continue to tank, lose, and go on a long losing streak capped of by a terrible west coast swing right before the break or they come back to salvage something out of it. Then someone in the clubhouse punches Latos in the face.

Can the Reds trade for Jonny Gomes in order to take care of this. If that happened I would start to think this team is going places.

On top of all of that the guy is a complete asshole I have real trouble rooting for.

Is there a backstory to that? I'm just curious, because that is the impression I got of him, too.

(Mine opinion formed after watching him repeatedly throw sunflower seeds at Jim "horseface" Day while Day was doing the pregame show. Day did not seem to be particularly amused by it.)

The only negatives you ever heard about Latos involved his head not his arm. It has always been "maturity" or "focus" that I have seen thrown around. I'm with Scott, from the body language/facial expressions/shit I can tell he says on the mound the guy is very immature to put it mildly.

Things go against him and he acts like me posting in this forum, just a complete meltdown at the first sign of anything bad. Problem for him is this is his day job and I'm only fucking around on an internet forum.

Now, to be fair...if he had an ERA south of 3.00 I'd be saying he's just "competitive". As it is, he's got an ERA that looks like Brady Hoke's grocery bill so he's just a fucking douchenozzle until he pitches better.

I'm most likely in the minority here, but leaving Chapman as a closer forever wouldn't hurt my feelings. Its an automatic win when he enters the game.

He could be a great starter or he could fail. Right now there's no question he's the best reliever in the game, if not best producing pitcher period. If there was a way to get another good starter without jacking everything up, I'd say do that and leave the missile in the ninth inning silo.

3.5 games up makes me feel warm and fuzzy. :)

If the rest of the NL Central wasn't so bad I'd say they will soon make you feel violated and sticky. They still very well may (if Votto gets hurt it's over) but the rest of the Central is pretty damn bad and there is an extra playoff spot this year so maybe they won't blow it, who knows?

I don't care what the Dodgers record is, there are no dominant teams in the NL right now so just make the playoffs and take your chances.

Who am I fucking kidding? They'll blow it.

nice to see this team back to not hitting for shit against a superstar pitcher like Jordan fucking Lyles. Stats for this season and his career absolutely blow and looks like freaking Cy Young against the Reds. Did he call the Pirates pitchers and ask "you guys suck big dicks like me, but somehow you shut down the Reds on a regular basis. What is your secret?"

at least Arroyo is returning to form. How this team is above .500 baffles me. Only 1 pitcher in the rotation worth a damn, and only 3 hitters in the lineup that can hit the ball. The bullpen is as solid as it gets, but with so much suck everywhere else I simply cannot believe this team will continue in first for long.

speaks to the weakness of the central and ferociously average NL this year imo. Believe your eyes, this team isn't very good.

The tallest midget in the circus so far.
