Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

The James Shields from Tampa rumor is picking up steam.

The more I look at that the more I like it. Not an ace but would be our #1/2 and not cost Mesoraco from what is reported so far.

Buy high, sell low, that's the Reds' motto.

Not that I don't like the idea of Shields in the Reds' rotation, yet his value has never been higher and will probably never get any higher.

The deals rumored for Shields so far seem very fair to me but I agree they've put themselves in a spot where they'll pay extra at a trade deadline because they did fuck all last year and all off season.

That said, doing nothing better not be an option for a guy like Shields or even UJ that can help beyond '11.

fuck you dbags (referring to the dbacks, not you guys )

i don't think even the reds coulda done what they just did, Upton leads off the bot 9 with a double (tied 2-2) wild pitch gets him to 3rd with 0 out and Chris Young up with a 3-2 pitch...GO to 3rd...next batter....GO to 3rd, 3rd batter, flyout to center

You're right. Three batters in a row made contact with a runner in scoring position. That's unpossible.

If the Rays-Reds make any progress on Shields talk, you would have to believe that C Devin Mesoraco would be possible focus for TB.

They'd be stupid not to ask. I don't think they'll get him.

In fact the better all these trade rumors sound the more I'm convinced they'll do fuck all.

They have built a .500ish team and attendance is up, what more could we fans ask for?

Which guy is the better option in the long run, Mesoraco or Grandal?

As soon as I am done divining this weeks power ball numbers I'll let you know. :wink2:

Consensus seems to be Mes but you'd have to read what the hard core minor league guys over at RZ say. I defer to dougdirt on all things prospect.
