Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

Why does Dusty feel like he needs a new pitcher for every guy coming to bat in the 9th innings? Fucking idiot!

The ball is probably going to fly a bit more today. Warmer weather and wind swirling. Who knows, we might actually even hit one to the wall!!

Sappelt is back and continues to swing a very hot bat in Louisville. He and/or Cozart could get a look very soon. At least I hope they do.

Sappelt is not on the 40 man. I knew Herrera would get the boot, and thanks to all those pitching issues Horst and Reineke got 2 spots (the other spot was Maloney going on the 60 day DL). Then there is Dontrelle Willis who is still not on the 40 man. In other words, I would bet they give Alonso or Hermida or Frazier a try before Sappelt due to 40 man issues. Of course none of that matters since Gomes has given Dusty that glimmer of hope. I suppose they could send down Heisey, but all that means is 1 of those guys would sit on the bench most of the time while watching Gomes strike out 3 or 4 times a game.

Looking really good so far on this road trip. It can all turn to shit at any point but they have been better than I anticipated already. If not for the Dusty last night we would be looking at a series win today if they can hold on.

All of the young guys are really stepping up in the rotation. Thats awesome. Brandon's bat is coming back around again which is very good to see considering how well Bruce and Votto are going at the top. Lets just keep it all going boys.

Always a good day when Lincecum only goes 4 innings and gives up 6 runs.

He did not have any control at all today. I believe he threw as many balls as strikes, and many of his strikes were in poor locations. Not that I am complaining.

edit: Now 4 innings and 7 runs. Book closed on Lincecum.
