Reds Tidbits (2011 Season)

Exactly.

And I don't see how this franchise can sincerely ask people to spend their money to come out to the ballpark when they're going punt games and dick around. After what just happened, I can't think of a good reason to go to GABP.

I can. It involves a sock partially filled with rolled coins. And Dusty.

i agree, this game wasn't the reason, but it just guaranteed myself not going to see them in Tampa as well as not going to any of their games when I come up to Ohio in August

This game is precisely the reason for me.

The sad thing is, I'm the kind of fan they need to attract. I'm young, I have no kids and disposable income. I don't have to make plans weeks in advance to go to a game - I live and work close enough that if I want to go, I just show up. Why should I though? I'm not strapped for cash, but I still work hard for it and don't want to waste it on a team that might stop trying that night.

You knew that kind of bullshit was going to happen last night. I knew it for sure in the pregame when Seg asked Dusty if Alonso would be called up soon to maybe try and fill the LF gap. "No, we'll get LF settled with someone who is already in the mix. We have an abundance of LF'ers right now. One of them will have to step up" -Dusty

Are you fucking kidding me? What a lousy piece of shit that man is. I fired off a letter to management today. Probably wont reach the upper echelon but nonetheless it made me feel better. The gist was this: "If you arent going to try and put a winner on the field in Cincinnati, then get out. We dont want you here and we will not support you. Enjoy Chapter 13"

I'm quite sure they wont have to file bankruptcy but if they lose enough money maybe they'll get serious about trying to field major league players/managers here at the major league level.

guess there wasn't anyone in the bullpen who coulda gone, Maloney is to the DL and heard Sam tried to warm up, but just couldn't get lose...that's why Fisher was still in there...so I can forgive Dusty for that, but still believes he deserves to be fired.

also

from fay

If we had go to the 20th, Janish would pitched, Heisey played second, LeCure, Bruce would have alternated between LF and RF

I refuse to watch anything over 9 innings after last night.

 I quit watching after the 18th to go outside and watch that storm. Man it got crazy. Luckily the winds weren't as bad as were being reported in Indiana. Those rednecks just love getting on TV, I'm convinced.

Fire the entire coaching staff. The manager, hitting and pitching coaches are atrocious.

Who is responsible for the conditioning of these so called athletes? I dont believe I've ever seen 6 pitchers go down in a week from tweaks and spasms. What kind of shape are these guys in? It cant be good. They evidently dont do any kind of stretching. JR used to say that all of the time when he was here, evidenced by the never ending back and leg issues.

The best pitcher we could pull up today was from AA. Thats pitiful. And now he's batting down 3 runs in the 7th. Fucking (JaxBuck)Blow it up!(JaxBuck)
