Reds tidbits (2010 season)

my favorite Red of all time, I remember watching him play when I was like 4 or 5 years old...i remember sitting up in the reds seats in the stadium (riverfront i think? too long ago) and I yelled "come on barry, hit a home run" (gotta say it as a 5 year old).....and he did

WBB's done in by their most hated rival...irony. :)

Whiny bitches swept by their most hated rival with their three aces on the mound, so now welcome in the Padres for a four game set and are running out Westbrook and Lohse to counter Stauffer and Latos.

STL will also be sending out Suppan for that series due to them shutting Jaime Garcia down for the year today :)

Numbers say Reds' closer Cordero not doing the job

...

Through Tuesday's games, there are 27 major-league relief pitchers with at least 20 saves. Among those 27, Cordero ranks ...

- 25th in ERA (4.04)

- Tied for most blown saves (8)

- Tied for 23rd in losses (5).

In some of the fancier stats, he's just as bad. Cordero ranks dead last of those 27 in WHIP (1.50 walks plus hits per inning pitched). He's 23rd of 27 in percentage of save chances converted, (81.4 percent) and he's 23rd in strikeouts per inning (0.82).

"What if you bring somebody in and he doesn't do the job?"

Somebody tell Baker that's what we've been watching all season.
