Reds tidbits (2010 season)

The Rockies' 3rd baseman just let the Reds back in the game with a huge error. In a 2 out, men on 1st and 2nd situation, he fields a grounder about 12' behind the 3rd base bag. He tries to beat a charging Votto to get the force-out, and Votto beats him. It's the 3rd out, why go anywhere but 1st on a routine ground ball?

Stubbs singles over the SS, Reds score 2.

Reds are now 1-4 since Phillips came back. He's been thrown out on the basepaths as many times as he's had hits, and he booted a grounder that lead to the winning run tonight.

Hey Brandon, you're in the middle of a pennant race!

well, at least it stays at 6 games
At this point, I'm watching that magic number closer than I am the games back. 10 Reds wins + 10 Cardinals losses, or some such combination thereof, and the Reds are in. Shouldn't be Mission Impossible with 24 games remaining for the Reds, and 26 for the Cardinals.

Of course, the Reds will find a way to fuck this up. Ironic they traded their injury prone outfielder and wound up with three injured outfielders two weeks later.
