Reds tidbits (2010 season)

on a side note, after a streak of seeing eye singles and bloop hits, Pedro Feliz is back to his under .600 OPS ways.

Nice pick up bitches.

No MLB team should be rewarded for picking up Pedro Feliz.

Updated from today's win:

Reds 79-56
27 games remaining
.500 rest of the way = 93 wins

WBB's 70-63
29 games remaining
have to go 23-6 (.793) to force a tie at 93 wins

That's right, a team that features Skip Schumaker, FeLo, Ryan, Miles and Feliz has to win 23 of 29 to force a tie if the Reds just play .500 ball the rest of the way.

If the Reds keep up the .585 pace they'll end up with 95 wins and the WBB's would have to 25-4 down the stretch. Good luck with that.

The one thing I'll take from today's game ...

I'm actually glad the Reds FO decided to spend $800K on the Gomes/Nix platoon rather than paying Matt Holliday $16.3M. Jesus, you could put a tent over Holliday in LF and call it a circus.

has anyone been to a Reds game when it was German Heritage night? Just curious if it was worth actually attempting to get there early just to see it, wouldn't mind some german food depending on what exactly it is

$12 imports instead of $7 domestics would be my guess.

Oh, and polka dancers and an accordian player?

For you Twitter users, follow Sam LeCure (@mrLeCure). He's envious that he doesn't have as many followers as Mike Leake, so he's doing contests for milestone follower numbers. Next up, when he gets to 3,000 followers, he'll give away a game-worn hat signed by the Starting 9 of the game that night. You don't have to be the 3,000th follower, just be on the list when he hits that number and he'll pick one at random.
