Smith has been solid most of the season... what gives? I hope this is just a rough patch that he gets over like Masset and Ondrusek had.

Bray, on the other hand... I don't know why he's still with the club. I keep hearing how he has the potential to be good, but I've never seen any signs of it. He seems like the kind who, if he were righthanded, would be selling insurance instead of playing baseball. He doesn't even get lefties out. As a LHP, if you can't do anything else you at least have to do that.

The scariest thing I've seen all night:

Baseball tonight is gushing about the Reds and they're combativeness against adversity. Everything is great then a giant picture of the saves leader in the NL pops on the screen right behind them..... guess who?

Thats when the 8th inning barrage started for the DBacks and I just felt the worst impending doom ever.


Glad its over. Awesome streak Reds!

Bray wears his socks over his pants legs and up to his knees, and his hat is on straight. He just looks bad ass, like I want my ballplayers to dress. Can't give up on him yet.

70-51 on August 19. Pinch me, I must be dreaming. .500 ball from here on out gets 90-91 wins. Cards will have to go 26-18 just to keep pace, even with the Reds crashing down the stretch.

Padilla scratched, Dodgers will go with Monasterios (long man) this evening instead. Manny is in San Bernardino on his rehab assignment, so the Reds miss him at least for tonight. Ramirez is supposed to be re-evaluated after today.
