Reds tidbits (2010 season)

5-1 now. Per my prediction, the Pirates have no real bullpen men outside of Meek and Hanrahan. Both of them are used up. This one could get ugly, in a good way.

u beat me to it. nice prediction by the way! oh and im still pissed we didnt win last night.

Now 6-1. Ledezma sucks hard. He got one lefty out, and gave up a double and triple to the other two. Of course his replacement Jackson is not much better.

pirates are just a SAD organization with such a rich history

Well, I didn't really go out on a limb there. Meek and Hanrahan are major league pitchers (Meek is pretty good, too). Yet outside of those two guys the rest of the bullpen for the Pirates would have trouble in AAA. Heck, they would be lucky to be a good AA bullpen.

And now 9-1.

i know im beating a dead horse but man phillips just drives me nuts....on a day where we have 9 runs on 15 hits through 7 our "leadoff" hitter is 1-5.....and was gunned down stealing. imagine what we could do with someone capable batting in the top spot. ok im done now....Go Reds

I know people complain about Phillips, but right now he is the best defensive 2nd baseman in the game. His hitting and baserunning can be frustrating at times, but his defense makes up for a lot.

whew, was starting to get some flashbacks there of the atl and philly game, giving up a leadoff HR than a single, then a 3-1 count, masset comes through though, Reds get to enjoy a 1 game lead for a few hours
Cards placed Motte on the DL today.

They're dropping like flies ... the Reds/Cards might just as well scratch the series next week and let Louisville play Memphis to figure out who is better.

...Except the Reds just lost a near-replacement level SS. The Cards lost their starting 3B and their only reliever who can miss bats. I'll gladly take the Reds' problems over the Cards' problems right now.
