Reds Tidbits (2009 season)

Who the fuck is Darnell McDonald?!

30 something career minor leaguer they decide to keep instead of Gomes (insert speed and defense quotes from Dusty).

The 4 decent ball players they have in the middle of the lineup will all have to play 162 games each and put up MVP numbers to begin to overcome the other 4 out machines in the lineup(s).

I'll say it again, all they have done is rebuild the team to lose 4-3 instead of 9-8. It seems that excites some people and if so, thats great. At least they will get to see baseball played the "right way" while the consecutive losing season streak continues.

Sounds like the kind of guy who shouldn't be on the team in the first place. We could hope he gets DFA'd in the next week but with our luck he'll go stumble into going 3-4 with the game winning RBI on Opening Day, and we'll be stuck with him until June on the basis of that alone.

Sounds like this isn't your first rodeo as a Reds fan or something. I'd bet a case of Martys hair products that it plays out exactly like that.

For you boys and girls listening at home never forget the voice of the Reds and his fucktard of a son both were calling for Norris Hopper to be the every day LF over Dunn a couple of years ago. This guy will be the latest version of Hopper.

Reds nation loves them some no talent ass clowns.

Got to love his stats. Career batting average .143. 1 RBI.

He isn't a base clogger and he doesn't hit a bunch of meaningless rally killers. I bet he's really fast too.

Dusty, Marty, George Grande and company will love him.

Wow. I can't remember being less excited for opening day than I am right now.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the CBJ for keeping my mind off of these guys.

Why>?

Better arms this year and no more Dunn makes for an optimistic year.

Most years I go in with hopes that this will be the year that is different and I'm almost always disappointed. This year, I've got my hockey to watch and haven't had a chance to get my hopes up. Therefore, if/when the season goes in the tank, I won't have my hopes dashed yet again.

Plus, Darnell McDonald is starting in left field. That alone is enough to temper my enthusiasm for quite awhile.
