Hairston is looking like a nice little lead off hitter. Hopefully, he doesn't look at the name on the back of his jersey and remember he is a career .256 hitter.
Jay Bruce is a spectacle to behold ladies and gentlemen! I'm currently bidding like a mofo for some signed para- on Ebay. If you guys are bidding against me......STOP IT NOW! :bicker:
C'mon Reds get him in here.
Junior! Thatta baby!
2nd and 3rd no outs. Get em in here again Brandon!
-What a game. I haven't actually gotten excited and cheered during a Reds game since I can't remember when. Jay Bruce may just be the player who saves me as a Reds fan.
-Bruce is unreal. If Dusty ever tells him to bunt again I am not responsible for what I may do.
-Speaking of people who should be bunting when they give you the entire left side to work with, its time for Dusty and JR to realize this isn't 1997. The Kid has 3 of his own and is an old man(in baseball terms) now. There is no unwritten rule that he has to hit 3rd Dusty. He isn't the best hitter on this team.
-I honestly think Hariston has found his niche hitting leadoff. I know his BA will come back down but if he still works counts and draws walks it's ok. We have no one else on the team except Dunn and Votto who will do that.
-Now put Hariston in CF, Janish at SS, move Bruce over to RF and hitting 3rd while making Jr the big LH bat off the bench. Then tell me we aren't a much better team for those moves.
-REAL glad to see EE not letting his hitting slump affect his D. The kid is a big time glove man at 3rd.
-Joey Votto is a picking machine and covers up a lot of shitty throws.
Guaranteed winning record for May!! We are now 14-12 with 1 game to play.
Great game to open the series against the Braves, now lets hope they can score 10 against their ace. This fifth spot in the rotaion hurts us bad. I'm OK with not having a top notch pitcher in that spot but we have to be competitive.
He sure gave up that 3 run lead in a hurry. Gonna be a long one today. Now that Merker is back, maybe they should think about giving Affeldt a shot at the 5th role. At least that would get a lefty out there. Although, I still think if they stick with Fogg, he would give them a shot to win about half his starts... which is better than Belisle was doing.
