Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

Im disgusted, im upset, I dont even want to watch this game. Im tired of losing.

Dusty Baker is the worst manager to ever lead this time and I hope he dies. He starts the worst possible people. Pretty bad when we can all know were gonna lose after the first inning.

As I have said in defense of the last two managers, I don't blame a moron for being a moron. I blame the dumb sonofabitch who hired him.

When this season turns into a 90+ loss flaming wreck Krivsky must go. If not its time to turn the attention to yet another buffoon for an owner.

Its not bad, we can beat the cubs, we had a perfect opportunity yesterday. Im not giving up hope now either. Theres still six innings but I know were losing. So people if you own season tickets, make some money and sell all the games, smells like another losing season.

I understand it sucks the way we are looking the past 5 games...But go back before that and we were totally different...

There is nothing that tells me we can't be a .500 team...

Fogg got lit up tonight...His next start might go to Belisle and I think that gives us the best 1-5 that we can go with until Bailey is ready...

Those that want to hate on EE has 2 hits tonight...Votto has 1 and a hard hit ball to go with that...Those guys are getting their bats going, the thing is no one was on base for them tonight and no one after them can bring them in...

I agree crazy buck. Also it is pretty early in the season. I mean we have a tough schedule at the begenning. Diamondbacks, Brewers twice, Cubs, not easy. Maybe being home will get us out of this slump.

We never should of lost to the freakin' Pirates, but it is what it is and then a bad start to the series against the Cubs...

I am hoping with Volquez, Arroyo, Cueto, and Harang going in the next 4 games that we can string something together...

Need the offense to come around...

Major League Baseball - CBSSports.com

With the Cincinnati Reds apparently in need of catching help and right-handed power, free agent Mike Piazza's name has surfaced. But, the Dayton Daily News reports that is a surprise to manager Dusty Baker and the front office, even though other reports have surfaced that said Baker is telling friends, "I'm confident Piazza will sign with the Reds. Tommy Lasorda wants him to play for me."

People want to bitch about unproductive players making money? How much will Fogg, Castro, Coffey and Stanton pull down this year? Its got to be near 6M off the top of my head.
6M?

Don't be an idiot. It's 6-and-a-half!!! :tongue2:

Stanton: 3M
Fogg: 1.5M
Castro: 975K
Coffey: 900K

We still got 10 hits, of which 1 hr, 4 doubles, yet we only scored 3 runs...

It just isn't adding up...When we do get hits and get guys on base they don't cross the plate...

Baseball can be the most frustrating sport to watch, especially when you try and look at things on a daily basis instead of football, which is once a week or basketball a couple times a week...

I guess you can bring optimism back every day, but eventually it just wears on ya...

Makes me want to rip my hair out...I am not ready to chalk it up as this team not being very good...They are a solid team...

This is a solid team on paper and I do think they could get better, but in the mean time somebody is responsible for my new bald spots. Christ I'm in my 20's so screw Dusty Baker. I read the other night there were boos when Dusty brought out the roster card before the game. I guess there were some Reds fans at Wrigley on Tuesday.

Stanton also picked up 500K for the buyout of his contact for next year so I guess I was off by an entire million. My bad. :wink2:

Volquez walks Ted Lilly with the bases-loaded, but gets Fontenot to ground out to end the threat.

Cubs up 1-0 going to the 3rd.

Quick notes:

-Dunn's OBP is .431 this season, up from .381 for his career. 17 walks in 14 games. He is getting almost nothing to hit batting 5th. They need some protection for him, somehow. Personally, I'd like to see him moved up in the order so that he either: A. gets pitches to hit or B. has someone behind him who can drive him in.
-Votto is now batting .333 for the season, however he hasn't taken a single walk in 33 at bats.
-Kepp leads the team with 10 rbi's (7 while batting 2nd) and Patterson is 2nd with 9 (all while batting lead-off). That just ain't right. :tic:
