Obviously I was being emotional when I said he isn't MLB quality against anyone but the Reds. However the point is obvious to anyone who who doesn't run around saying "#2 for life" and flashing Milwaukee gang symbols. Hall is a lower level MLB ballplayer who's performance against one particular team is so far outside of his career norms its rediculous.
Other Reds killers are guys like Pujols, Berkman, Ryan Howard etc. They are top shelf MLB level players and put up big numbers against everyone so its easier to take. If Ryan Freel turned into Albert Pujols every time he played the Brewers I'm sure there would be some mention of it among the Brewer faithful.

Jaxbuck;1144519; said:If only the NL had the DH. I don't get the impression he is ok with a bench role but I could be way off. Isn't that what he threw a hissy about, being benched?
crazybuckfan40;1144522; said:Yeah...It was just a quick thought, after I saw it on ESPN...
Then I had the thought of giving him time at 1b, moving Votto to the outfield, but then you don't have anyone in Center that can cover ground...
He really doesn't fit other than some platoon time at first, and a right hander off the bench, but I don't think he would like that role, he would cost too much, and it would take away from Votto's development some...
But having Frank Thomas on our team would improve it...No matter how you slice it...

here we go again
crazybuckfan40;1144553; said:Dusty really is trying everything...At least we know Dusty isn't a stiff and just continues to run the same lineup out there...He is trying to find a lineup that works, and find ways to get guys in...When Narron did things they made you shake your head...Dusty at least makes sense of his lineups...
Lineup for todays game...
Patterson (still doesn't make since, and think this one will chance eventually, but who else do you put in the leadoff spot...Kepp maybe, but he should hit later)
Phillips (not your ideal 2 hitter, but not your ideal 4 hitter either)
Griffey
Dunn
Kepp (like this one because if Griff and Dunn get on he can bring them around with his good hitting)
Votto (like this as well as he can keep a rally going if Dunn Griffey get on, Kepp gets his hit and then you have Votto who isn't going to kill things)
EE (Then EE to clean things up)
Bako
Harang
The thing that kills this is that Bako, pitcher, Patterson, Phillips puts 4 guys in a row that like to make outs...that kills your offense 4 innings or so of the game...
Jaxbuck;1144578; said:Given the fact he is wedded to the formula of CF must lead off + CP plays CF=CP must lead off, thats the best lineup he can come up with imo.
Other than CP he's got the guys currently hitting below the guys with good OBP, also it seems he's gotten over the midless slave to R/L/R lineups thing that paralyzed the simple minds of the last 3 managers. Jr and Dunn should have been #3 and #4 for the last few years like clockwork imo.
