I forgot about his issue with day games. To me, the day game thing and the HRs so far are an issue of concentration. The Reds need him to pull his head out of his ass and be the reliable (not necessarily spectacular) pitcher that he's capable of being. Being a veteran in a rotation that includes two young rookies and a stiff like Josh Fogg, the Reds can't have him serving up gopher balls and getting the hook after four innings all season.

BA had a career 6 month stretch when he first came to Cincy, after that he's remembered who he really is...a league average pitcher at best.

He'll eat 200+ innings and give you a 4-4.5 ERA. He's only a #2 starter in Cincy, when traded from Boston he was a career swingman.

I'm looking for the day in the near future when he really is our 4th or 5th best starter. Then we can have legit WS aspirations imo.

Problem solved!

Instead of Harang, Arroyo, Cueto, Fogg, Volquez, we instead go Harang, Cueto, Volquez, Arroyo, Fogg!

This is baseball, remember? You don't have to do anything particularly well to be the staff ace, you just have to be the opening day starter. Similarly, move Arroyo to #4, and he's now the #4! See what I did there?
