Reds Tidbits (2008 season)

BTW JLB Utley's shot was 2 run shot...But I do understand you point...BUt it isn't going to happen perfect every night...Arroyo didn't have great stuff tonight...

I know, but if you get Victorino out, it's only a solo HR. Admittedly that's being very nitpicky. Victorino is a decent player. With a lineup like the Phillies have though, you have to get the decent players out too so they don't hurt you when the guys you have to fear come to the plate.

Not saying I disagree, but even with him as your four option isn't bad...If you have a guy at 5 that is just about as good...

It kinda goes without saying, but I'll be glad when Arroyo is the team's #5. That's really what he is, but for now the Reds need him to be a #3 and he doesn't have it.

Victorino is a very solid hitter, some lineups are just loaded and the Phillies are one of them...Obviously you don't want the lower guys to beat you, but Feliz is a guy that has hit 3,4 or 5 in his career, Jenkins is a good hitter as well...Same thing with the Cardinals with Pujols...But the other guys are going to get hits at some point, it

Yeah hopefully by next season Cueto and Bailey can hop Arroyo or match his stuff...

I'd say Cueto already has, we need to see two more come up fairly soon and see if we can't trade BA and that ticking time bomb of a contract.

I agree with you that Cueto is ahead of Arroyo in terms of ability. The Reds need Arroyo to be a #3 though with respect to the ability to eat innings and go deep into games. He did not deliver that tonight.
