Red Lobster is generally overpriced for what it is, but lacking a better alternative it's acceptable.

I'm lucky enough to have a great uncle who overnights live lobsters on ice several times a year from Maine. :)

- pretty good seafood for Dayton -

*cough* Shuck'N Shack *cough*

Now regarding knowledge regarding the make up of the clientele of Red Lobster there are two options:

1. You go there quite often so really have no room to criticize.
2. You don't go there and are just talking out your ass.

Either one makes you look like a dipshit.

Serves: 8
Prep. Time: 0:15
2 cups Bisquick® baking mix
2/3 cup milk - low fat okay
1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese - low fat okay
1/4 cup butter OR margarine - melted
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
parsley flakes - as needed

-Combine Bisquick
®, milk, and cheddar and beat with a wooden spoon for about 30 seconds.
-Spoon onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
-Bake in 450 degree oven for 8 - 10 minutes.
-Combine butter and garlic powder and pour over hot biscuits; sprinkle with parsley.

Notes: As we all know, restaurants have access to ingredients home cooks do not. In this case, I've been told Red Lobster® uses their Shrimp Scampi butter mix (a powder) to flavor their biscuits. So, this recipe is as close as a home cook can get to the real thing.
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

The recipe is close, but not quite right. Still pretty damn good biscuits. I don't know if they're worth five dollars, but still pretty damn good.

Mrs. Katt and I go for the Cajun shrimp pasta and the biscuits, but that's it. If we wanted good seafood, we would prepare it at home or go to a nicer restaurant.

Red Lobster is good for me because I love seafood and live in Ohio. I love their biscuits.

If you are in Florida, Maine, or any other coastal state you will NEVER eat at a Red Lobster. It doesn't even compare to the family owned joints along the coast. Fresh seafood is the best and those people along the coast really know how to prepare it.

I've been to red lobster a couple of times... usually meeting a large group of people for something... I don't ever remember going there with just my wife.

I think it's average to below average... even in Central Ohio there are plenty of good seafood joints (granted they do cost a bit more)...

Red Lobsters is the AppleBees of seafood. More mullets inside then college degrees.

I thought that I saw you there Tibs, this comment pretty much verifies it........ you classy son of a bitch!

By the way, where do people with college degrees eat when they dine out?

Actually, I remember reading somewhere that Red Lobster doesn't even have a restaurant in Maine. Although this may be Urban Legend.

I grew up in Florida, and you're right. Nothing compares to fresh seafood. Sophie Kay's Top of Daytona was awesome.

But being here in Ohio, Red Lobster and Joe's Crab Shack are acceptable alternatives.

I have a very faint memory of eating at Red Lobster. I was probably 9 or so. Haven't been back since. I absolutely love seafood, but refuse to eat lobster when I'm not on the coast. We've got a few good seafood joints here, plus, we buy fish or scallops at the store fairly often and cook at home. Way less expensive than eating seafood out...

I don't care for seafood. If I were with people who wanted to go to Red Lobster, I'd get chicken or steak or something.

It's kind of silly to make fun of someone for where he likes to eat. Unless the person in question likes to go to Little Caeser's. In that case, the guy probably just likes to eat sponges.
