Recruits Announcing "Signing Week" 2005

I have been hiting the ND board lately as I have followed McCarthy and Wilson. They thought they were going to land everyone who so much as said they might take an unofficial - and then win the NC within three years.

Not a great day for the Domers. Where is my hanky (sniff).

Whoa. I knew Miami was only shooting for one WR in this class, but they didn't get any! Robiskie to Ohio State, Lobdell to Syracuse. Ouch.
Miami's 05 recruiting class? Very talented but...
- NO Quarterback (a huge need)
- NO WRs (as B20 mentioned)
- A 2-star RB (maybe a sleeper, but I doubt they're happy with this being their best RB recruit)

Plus we have the RB disaster:bonk: over at USC for 2 years straight (except that they play in the pac10 and actually will be bringing in the Governator in next year's recruiting class)

Miami and Texas both got stung hard today. USC took a little bit of a shot too despite coming away with arguably the #1 class. Losing out on Gwaltney and DeSean Jackson is surely not what they had in mind.

final bump for the original post's completion

Thats so true...check out this quote from Mack Brown following the loss of Ryan Perriloux:

"All of us are looking at who will be the best team player, but in recruiting it's becoming more and more about the individual," Brown told SI.com. "We're going to have to do a better job of watching how certain kids respond to the Internet and publicity that's become such a part of the process."
he sounds very upset at being misled. Its the way recruiting is going now, misinformation and lies.

As far as Miami is concern.....boo hoo :tibor:

"FSU has outrecruited Miami for sure," said Wallace. "This will be the first time in five years they don't finish with a top-10 class."
ouch....

I got this quote in an email from a friend of mine (a BP member who never posts)...

Brown should have seen it coming. In October, after Texas lost to Oklahoma, Perrilloux said this about the school he had verbally committed to: "I don't think they've opened the playbook enough. They run first and pass second. When I get there we'll pass first and run second. I'll give (UT offensive coordinator Greg Davis) a chance to work with Ryan Perrilloux, and I'll make him a success."

In one paragraph the high school senior 1) critiqued the Texas offense, 2) announced he would change all schemes, 3) said he would turn a coach into a success and 4) used his name in the third person.

Miami needed a FB in this class and got one. RB was not really a need position, but they will be behind the 8-ball bigtime for QBs and WRs next year.
USuCks will need RBs badly-they might not hit on 2 instant studs like Bush and White tho,boo hoo hoo.....

I wasn't as much surprised as I was relieved. After the Army game, this kid showed that he loves the limelight and with USC having Turner and Jarrett, he may not get the instant PT there as he would at Cal. I was hoping he signed with Cal, but wasn't too sure. USC gets enough studs... it's alright they lost Jackson.
