I'll give this another shot, although my list changes with the wind:

QB - None
RB - Boom Herron
WR - Dane Sanzenbacher, Devon Torrence
TE - None
OL - Evan Blankenship, Kris O'Dowd
DT - Josh Brent, Antonio Jeremiah
DE - Ben Martin, Solomon Thomas
LB - One of Brandon Lindsey or Jermale Hines
CB - Donnie Evege, James Scott, Vance Cuff
S - Nate Oliver, Eugene Clifford
ATH - Brandon Saine

That is 16, which leaves room for 3-4 more. Those spots could be filled by kids from this list: Hines or Lindsey (whichever we don't take), Barksdale, Claytor, Lazear, Clements, T. Washington, Morgan, Hatcher, Allen, L. Washington, John Clay and Major Wright.

if wad's list would come to fruition, and osu filled as few as 2 or as many as 4 with the remaining candidates, there will be nothing to complain about with this class.

you and be both...that is a heck of a fine defensive class and some dynamic playmakers on offense. plus enough big guys so that the cupboards aren't bare, but we also set are selves up nicely for the haul next year, especially at TE/LB and OL.

Good list wad. Only guy I would add is Taurian Washington. I do agree though...it looks like we will have an amazing defensive class. Put that with the '06 class and the tradition of our defense should live on. Our offense will have some talent as well and don't want to downplay them either. I'd have to say that the DL and speed class are going to be very special this year.

A lot of people aren't very confident in Washington right now. I think that's why wad left him off the list. He said something to the effect of "I'm more blue than gray."

Anyone want to sift back through this thread and see how they did?

For my part, my last list on 8/3/06 wasn't too bad. When I made this list Blankenship, Sanzenbacher and Herron had recently committed and Evege, Saine and Oliver were already on board.

QB - None
RB - Boom Herron
WR - Dane Sanzenbacher, Devon Torrence
TE - None
OL - Evan Blankenship, Kris O'Dowd
DT - Josh Brent, Antonio Jeremiah
DE - Ben Martin, Solomon Thomas

I thought we would take more from my list at the bottom than just Washington...which we would have if we had gotten any of Allen, Barksdale, Davis, Wright, Martin or Still.

Swung and missed on pretty much the entire DL...as did every OSU recruitnik. Remove Martin and Jeremiah. Replace Brent with Heyward...which I see as a slight upgrade.

Take out Lindsay and put in Rolle. Nice upgrade there.

Never saw Pentello coming, but I am glad he is a part of this class.

Ask LJB how I did on my initial list...:wink2:

Either way it seemed like everyone had a good feel last year besides the d-line and adding an extra o-lineman is basically where everone missed.

If I could go back and add anyone guy that we missed on it would be Brent. Just to add an extra d-tackle.

Either way it is a successful class IMO and will go great with our bangup job we are going to pull out in 08...

It was probably the worst year to ever follow recruiting tho, with all those crazy silents that decided to go else where...

Count me in the school of thought that says there is no such thing as a "silent verbal" The only exception in my mind is if a kids says I want to announce in 2weeks so dont say anything. Anything short of that is a bunch of nothing.

Kids today are "working" the system. Barksdales recruitment was a journey in the down right bizzar
