Loathing All Things Georgia
I love history, including the History of TWBTS, and for most of my life I read about people arguing what the "Rebel Yell" sounded like. It was supposed to be a little spooky - not at all a savage scream like in Braveheart - but supposedly a disturbing cry that rose and fell, being particularly eerie when the Rebs were attacking out of the fog, as often happened in the Smokies.
Anyway, with the increase in information that comes with Al Gore's invention of the interweb, two old recordings from actual secesh veterans, it was possible to recreate the old battle cry that was thought to be lost.
The closest thing I had seen was the 75th anniversary of Gettysburg video of several old soldiers giving it an asthmatic go, bless their hearts.

Anyway, they used modern technology to reproduce a group of men using it to experience what battle was life back then. I'm not so much interested in the promotion of the Lost Cause by those guys as the fact that the arguments about what the heck it sounded like has been settled.
Here it is, back from the dead after 150 years:

Anyway, no purpose in posting this other than I thought it an interesting historical mystery solved and wanted to share with any Civil War/History buffs here. ( And proof that the UDC wound up being actually good for something after all - who knew?)
