Real Chicago Style Food in CBus

I'm not talking about East of Chicago or a deep dish pizza from insert major chain.

I'm somewhat of a foodie and I don't think there's a single place here who serves true Chicago style pizza or food. I'm almost willing to bet money there's not a place here with an Italian Beef sandwich.

I can knock off a medium chain pizza by myself without breaking a sweat and if I haven't eaten all day I can kill a large pizza. I'm with one of my boys from the Windy City and we roll up to a place called Taylor Street Pizza in Chicago. He tells me you can't compare it to CBus pizza a large 14 inch pizza feeds four people. I brush him off order one and eat half feeling like I just got done with thanksgiving dinner.

Uno's Pizza? I haven't been there in a while, but that might be close to what you're looking for pizza wise.

Uno's is nasty shit man. I think the best pizza in Chicago or anywhere for that matter is Lou Malnati's. Get the butter crust. That thing is just simply amazing. I am pretty sure you can order pizzas frozen from them and they will ship them to you.

In Chicago, I've eaten at Uno (original and Deux), Lou Malnati's, and Aurelio's. I'd have to say Malnati's is the best.

Wholly Joe's on Polaris has some kick ass chicago style food... pizza and dogs.

Everyone in Ohio do themselves a favor, drive to Dover, Ohio, go to the intersection of Wooster Ave. and Front St., 1 block up on Front St., right beside a place called Blick Tool and Die, there's a little pizza place called Penso's. Get one of their pizzas, and you'll never want pizza from anywhere else but there again.

Wholly Joe's on Polaris has some kick ass chicago style food... pizza and dogs.

Wholly Joe's imported a Chicago deep dish oven. They have Chicago ingredients, like poppy seed buns, brought in. It's run by a couple from Chicago who got tired of not having true Chicago food in Columbus. Get a Beef sandwich dipped, a hot dog and a deep dish pizza. One of Columbus best kept secrets, Wholly Joe's IS Chicago food.

BTW Uno's has about the worst pizza I've ever eaten (not counting Gumby's). Uno's is about as far from true Chicago Deep dish as you can get.

I thought I saw a special on Pizza on the History channel that said UNO was the original chicago deep dish. Am I mistaken?

You are mistaken. There was a little place that's still in Chicago that made "Chicago style" pizza. Can't remember the name. UNO just originated from Chicago.
