Agreed. Having real Chicago pizza ruined normal pizza for me. They really aren't the same food.

i only can have deep dish pizza every couple months... it's not good to drink on, and it weighs you down... i prefer new york style anyway

the most pizza i get in the city is either new york style or new haven style...

and i dont eat chicago dogs, because mustard is f'ing gross

italian beef is good... but i prefer a cheese steak any day


my $.02, never knew there was much a demand for 'chicago' food anywhere... interesting thread

Same here, deep dish pizza is disgusting (and I'm a life-long native of Chicago, besides the 4 years I lived in Columbus).

IMO, Piece has the best pizza in town (and some damn good beer).

But I do like a loaded Vienna Beef Chicago style hotdog though.

I haven't read any of the other suggestions here, but I know of one near me and that's Wholly Joe's. I worked a summer in Chicago and I did missed a good Chicago hot dog when I came back to Columbus. They have some real good Chicago style hot dogs there. Staff is really friendly too.

Piece is top notch...incredibly hard to get a table on a Friday night, but if you stand by the bar you are bound to get a seat there before you will get a table.

I'm there at least once a month, but usually for dinner during the week or on a Sat. or Sun. afternoon to avoid some of the crowds. I was there just a couple of weeks ago but am getting a taste again for it...especially a white pizza with mashed potatos and bacon.....
