P.S. Regardless of what they do; I'll always stick by them., but please somebody give me some hope !

They went 12-1 and had a shot at the BCS title.

What more do you want??

sure a win would be nice, but as we found out, anything can happen in that one singular game.

I don't want this taken wrong. Like I said., even if they went 1-12., I would still be there rooting for them ! I just haven't gotten over the champ game because I know that wasn't OSU that played that day,.....that was Michigan - they hi-jacked the bus and stole our uniforms !!!!

Seriously though,.are you not a little sickened at that game., knowing we would beat them 8 out 10 games ?

Are you honestly saying you were happy with the prevent defense all game ?

No, we're saying that we all are familiar with what happened and it's water over the dam. We got beat and we'll learn from that big-time.

Now, let's move on.

This was a really, really weird year. It was amazing to watch Troy win the Heisman on a game by game basis, but for some reason, w/ the exception of the scUM game, the energy was not the same as in 02'-even approaching the BCS championship game. I enjoyed the season, but I can't say it felt especially different from an ordinary "good" tOSU season-beat scUM, big time bowl, etc.

I'm not happy about the prevent defense played all game. That was dumb to me. I mean even us fans sitting on our couch saw that it wasnt working, but the defensive coordinator didnt see that and couldn't make the adjustment. It would have been nice to see them go to a man once and a while. I know its been discussed but it pisses me off that we didnt make the switch. Eh whatever....cant do anything now..and couldnt before...we have to move on. Always will be a fan no matter what they do.

I know. Something needs to be changed. I will not settle for 12-1 seasons finishing second in the country. It's outlandish. This is Ohio State......not Baylor.

Did I miss something, or did Baylor finish second in the country of late? :tongue2:

OSU seeks answers to painful loss

Thursday, February 08, 2007 Doug Lesmerises

Plain Dealer Reporter
Columbus- When Jim Tressel watched Chicago's Devin Hester return the opening kickoff for a touchdown in the Super Bowl, he wanted to shout at the television screen to the rest of the Bears, "Stay off Hester."
Then he thought he actually saw the Bears make a point of not celebrating too roughly with their teammate.
"They must have watched our game," Tressel said Wednesday.

Cont'd...

I think after A. Russ went down we weren't the same defense.
ONeal struggled. He wasn't ready for primetime, yet.
Getting Russell back will be great for this defense and the whole team.
And we will need someone to step up opposite A. Russ.

Its still hard looking past that game on the 8th to the rest of season. Just a really sour stomach from it. I know Heacock said they tried everything but I don't remember a play where they were playing man and really tried to get after Leak. Did they watch film of him all year long? I feel like they said we've been dropping back all year long and we've won. Nevermind that Chris Leak could dink and dunk all day like that. On the offense well... better line play would have been nice as would have some runs called on the series after Forida punted after the score to make it 21-14.

The one I saw from UF that I really like were those ends. Has our staff thought of making some of our really fast LBs fast DEs like that. gholsten is a beast but not in the Harvey kind of way. I would love to see true speed and burst off our edge like what we saw in that game from Florida. That was amazing. Does anyone know if our staff is going to try something like this. Maybe they need to teach Larry Grant to put his hand down like that.

To the point made above about the UF DE's being so fast. They are fast to start with but when they can just pin their ears back and pass rush, well that makes them (or anyone) look even faster.

IMO, it all gets back to just a complete debacle by the coaches on both sides of the ball. The gameplan was horrid and there were no adjustments that my layman eyes could detect.

That said, Tress is human, he fucked up, it happens. Unfuckingbelievably bad time and place to lay that egg, but he's the one who got us to our 2nd NC game in 5 years so he earns a big pass in my book.

There is still no one in America I would rather have coaching tOSU football than Jim Tressel.
