Unlike Eddie, Beanie, Dontre, Rod and who knows else, he didn't fumble early on.

I remember an interview of Decker's I believe where he said navy had a very unique defense that doesn't allow double teams due to spacing. Maybe that's what @MaxBuck meantMaybe he means 4-3 instead of 3-4?
For as highly touted our speed guys have been since last year with Dontre we haven't had one big run from them
I get the impression watching these guys run that they are extremely fast in short bursts, but don't have the "take it to the house", Ted Ginn-like speed over a longer distance.
I think we have plenty of take it to the house speed with Samuel being the headliner. In my opinion we have Oregon speed now on display. Not many people across the college football landscape can catch Marshall, Samuel or Dontre in the open field. I've yet to see anyone make up ground on devin smith in the open field. All they have to do is burst through the second level and I don't think anyone is going to catch them in a foot race. Dontre looks faster and did get rid of the short choppy strides. It's just a matter of time. Ginn had that once in 20 year player speed and he also played in a time where defenses weren't as fast at all 3 levels as defenses have to be now-a-days to compensate for spread offenses. None of them may match his long quick strides but all of them can be home run hitters. They are all extremely electric in space.I get the impression watching these guys run that they are extremely fast in short bursts, but don't have the "take it to the house", Ted Ginn-like speed over a longer distance.
Any Buckeye recruiting nerd (like myself) will tell you that your impression is, well, wrong. None of them are Ted Ginn, but who is? The bottom line is that no team in the country would want to put your assumption/impression to the test against Devin Smith, Corey Smith, Dontre Wilson, Jalin Marshall, Curtis Samuel, Zeke Elliott, etc.I get the impression watching these guys run that they are extremely fast in short bursts, but don't have the "take it to the house", Ted Ginn-like speed over a longer distance.
