How would you like them to use him?

It was a welcome change to see them finally use him on swing passes. I'm not sure why those disappeared from the playbook for two years, at least not this year with such savage perimeter blocking from OSU's WRs.

I'd like him to catch that TD so that JT can learn to trust him more in the passing game, which is where he's the ultimate mismatch and Heisman ruiner for Jabrill.

Laughable that Peppers is getting Heisman hype and Curtis Samuel really isn't.

Just most touches period in the Indiana game. Wisconsin defended him well and they should've scrapped the pitches sooner. 2nd half was definitely better. I don't get why the swing passes took so long to show up either. It should be a staple with him.

I say this every year about this time: "Where is the screen game and mis-direction"? It has to be in the playbook. Teams are going to continue to challenge our two young tackles after their struggles in the PSU game and recent ineffectiveness of the passing game. You have to have something in the playbook to keep a defense off balance and make them think. OSU's offense doesn't require a defense to think, they can just react to what they are seeing and go disrupt the play. We don't need gimmicky plays just a little creativity.

And Samuel would be the perfect player to get it to when the defense is a step behind or slow to react. HE GONE!!!

Buckeye Breakdown: The Curtis Samuel Effect

The Ohio State coaching staff has stated they are utilizing Curtis Samuel exactly as they have planned thus far. With the lack of touches for Samuel in recent weeks, a quote like this may leave one scratching their head and wondering if they are watching the same game as the everybody else.

After reviewing the game versus Northwestern, I am convinced that the coaching staff, in fact, is utilizing Samuel they best they can at the moment.

“Where is Curtis Samuel?”

It's a question we’ve heard on a number of different occasions this season. Ohio State’s do-it-all offensive weapon has disappeared at times — to no fault of his own.

On Saturday night, however, in the Buckeyes’ 62-3 rout of Nebraska, the answer to the question was rather simple. Curtis Samuel was everywhere.

Samuel touched the ball 13 times against the Huskers. He would have touched it more had Ohio State not pulled its starters in the third quarter. Samuel carried it five times for 41 yards and had eight catches for 137 yards. He crossed the goal line twice.

Nebraska simply had no answer for the Buckeyes’ most dynamic playmaker.

“Today I just took advantage of the opportunities,” Samuel said. “Coach gave me the ball and I’m supposed to go out there and make plays so that’s what I tried to do.”
