Hurt his ankle per the Bank, x-rays to follow.

I was at the game. He was looking good for the first quarter, then went down early in the 2nd (IIRC). They taped up the left ankle quite heavily and he tried to go on it a few plays, but was clearly in pain, so he spent almost the entire second half standing along the sidelines, forced to watch.

Warren Ball, RB, St. Francis de Sales (Columbus, Ohio) - Ohio State
When Ball committed to Ohio State earlier this month, the Buckeyes locked up a versatile back with good vision, speed, and size.

The 6-2, 200-pounder catches the ball nicely out of the backfield and also returns kicks for DeSales. At running back, he has great acceleration and gets upfield quickly. His strength allows him to break any would-be tackles.

Along with Glen Oak running back, Brionte Dunn, Ball will be one of the top offensive threats in Ohio next season.

His commitment means that Ohio State will land another great instate back, following in the footsteps of Maurice Clarett and Beanie Wells.

Ball runs like Ingram, not saying he's going to be that good, but I like his downhill and physical style.

The last tape I saw on Dunn scared me a little bit. He looked like he added weight (which is natural) and wasn't as explosive as I previous thought.

Yeah...I will take the coaches evals...and the 10 hand written letters from the Alabama Coaching staff that this kid received.

Ball Back in Action | Bucknuts.com

Posted by Bill Kurelic on Sep 30, 2010 at 03:09 pm

Buckeye running back commitment Warren Ball (Columbus, Ohio/DeSales) has been out of action since spraining his ankle right before the end of the first half of the Stallions' third game of the season. Without their star running back in the second half, DeSales lost to New Albany 13-10 in overtime.

The week before spraining his ankle, Ball rushed for over 200 yards in a 41-0 victory over Maumee.

Ball is set to return to action tomorrow night as DeSales hosts 5-0 Columbus St. Charles.

The 6-foot-2 and 205-pound Ball announced a commitment to the Buckeyes on Sept. 1. He is one of the country's top running back prospects and the No. 2 overall prospect in the Ohio class of 2012.

Gentile's only completion, a 41-yard pass to Borghese, led to the first of two field goals by Anthony Ciammaichella as the Stallions took a 10-6 lead in the third quarter. DeSales tacked on a 1-yard TD plunge by Warren Ball with 1:16 left to account for the final margin.
