RB Roderick Smith (Official Thread)

At the beginning of the year, I thought Smith would just be another cog in the wheel of power backs. What is remarkable to me is that he is developing into a change of pace back. He has similar measurables on paper, but his skill set and build make Rod a completely different animal. I love his running style...he can run you over or make you miss. I love Hyde but he is a more straight line 5-6 yards guy, whereas Rod can come in and hit a big play. Definitely nice to have a mix.

Let's not count our chickens before they hatch.....we had a huge stable of RBs at the beginning of this season, then the injury bug hit.

Very true, as most coaches will say: "You can never have too many running backs".

They have also been quoted as saying "Nothing good happens after 2 AM (or some other time after midnight, etc.); but that's another story.

And a "multi headed monster" defense too. Seven heads would be OK, but 11 would be better:

11-head monster? Like the 97 defense? Or the 95 offense?

A completion, an incompletion, or an interception.

When you run the ball:

Run for gain, run for no gain/loss, or a fumble.
Completion, incompletions, interception, sack, fumble, pass for no gain.. you're really challenging Woody Hayes here? He knew his shit..... running is much safer than passing, which is the point of the quote boys.

Exactly.

Smash mouth football is also far more satisfying.

well, what do you do with smith? 136 all purpose yards, 1 TD, but another fumble. he's obviously a playmaker but if this goes on much longer i don't see this ending well.
Did he lose the fumble because of poor mechanics of holding the ball or did the ball come out due to a defensive helmet jarring it lose? I thought it was a latter.
