Ohio State's Miyan Williams 'under the weather' but Buckeye running backs 'at full force' for CFB Playoff
The 2022 regular season saw Ohio State deal with a number of injuries to key players, but perhaps no room was more affected than at running back. The Buckeyes had five running backs take meaningful snaps, three of which had over 100 carries, due to various ailments throughout the year.
It was only natural then that Scarlet and Gray fans were quick to react when on the first day of media availability at the College Football Playoff semifinal on Tuesday, Miyan Williams, the expected starting running back for Ohio State against No. 1 Georgia, was replaced for interviews by Chip Trayanum. Williams battled injuries throughout the year, missing two games and being limited in others.
“Oh no, Miyan's good,” Trayanum said when told fans were bound to read into the change. “He's just a little under the weather. He's good. He's straight. He's going to be ready to go.”

“They've all practiced well,” offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said of the running backs on Tuesday. “Miyan had a really good go yesterday, the most work he's had to date. And as we build through this week, I think we'll see those guys playing and playing well, but I think you need more than one back. You need two, sometimes three to play through the season… The running back is a little bit like Georgia's. Like a lot of good teams, you're playing two or three. This year we've had to evolve due to some guys being in and out due to some minor injuries we've had. But going into this game, we are at full force.”
