He reminds me quite a bit of Doug Martin. Short, muscular guys with good lateral mobility and vision are so hard for defenders to play against. With the trees we've been bringing in along the O-Line, it's going to frustrate the crap out of the opposing teams just trying to find him.
Kid looks like a good one. Amazing the transformation these guys go through. If he was good enough to be fought over when he was a doughy recruit, he ought to be intense now. One of the things that has been a significant upgrade with Urban, is the selection/coaching of RBs. JT obviously had MoC, until he didn't, and brought Hyde in. Hyde didn't become a pro-caliber talent until UFM & Co. got him on the right page and coached him up. Now, we've got a fully weaponized Weber and Williams right behind him with at least Dobbins coming in who just won the Opening. As He says, the future is bright at Ohio State.
JT actually recruited pretty well at RB, just a number of guys never made the transition from HS to college(whether it was academics, injuries, etc). Let's also not forget about Brandon Saine, Jordan Hall, Jamal Berry and Rod Smith(and 3 of them have even made NFL rosters, I'm not sure about Berry). OSU has been solid with RBs for a while now, can't wait to see what Weber brings to the table as I feel very confident about himKid looks like a good one. Amazing the transformation these guys go through.
FWIW, JT had a lot of good backs, MC, Pittman, Beanie, Herron, and as you noted, brought Hyde. We had a lean period for a couple years because MC went AWOL, but otherwise it's hard to complain.
