RB Michael Weber (New Jersey Generals)

If your boss is a 17 year old kid, making the biggest decision of his life, and one that will effect everything in his life going forward, I'd give the boss the opportunity to fire me. Maybe I'm just too fair?

Weber is ultimately The Decider(tm), but it annoys me how these things always get spun as if they're a 8 year old girl with no adults whatsoever in their ear.
At 17 or 18, you're a young adult not a helpless child incapable of making decisions. I understand not criticizing kids' twitter feeds and giving them some leeway in media, but how this gets carried into noise about how they're just so helpless and incapable is eye-roll inducing. Kids join the military before their senior year even starts (DEP) and go to war from there... I think they can handle choosing a University.

Mike made a very hard decision with plenty of adults in his ear after a very lengthy - and I'm sure tiring - process. He looked at all his options despite pressure not to. He got to see everything. I'm sure he's a little disappointed with how the landscape changed so fast... but it's a forever changing landscape anyway. If he really wants to play in the NFL, better get used to coaches, players, etc. coming and going.

Yep. Folks are acting as if this "life-changing" decision will have extreme polar-opposite effects...choice "A" results in instant permanent wealth and choice "B" leads to a low and agonizing death (well, in the case of Ohio State vs. Michigan, that may be true). Either place will offer a quality education at a quality institution and an opportunity to earn a shot at getting drafted.

Ha. Not disagreeing with anything said here. Just that he should be able to decide that himself, and couldn't effectively with all information provided. I mean, who knows? Maybe he wants a slow agonizing death. Who are we to judge?

Yes because all decisions we make in life and in our careers are with 100% clarity and no deception. It's like half the people here haven't been on a date or know what dating is about. This is a good learning experience for mr weber and he will be all the better for it in the long run

Ah, if only I had a crystal ball what would I have done differently. Mike has the opportunity to get an education (free) at a great institution with Alumni ties that will benefit him the rest of his life, the opportunity to play for arguably the best coach in CFB, win multiple championships, play in an amazingly dynamic offense, play behind one of the best Olines in CFB, play with other amazingly talented players....what am I missing here about the positive benefits of coming to tOSU?

Very rarely does anyone get to make a decision with all possible information concerning that decision getting provided to them.

The military recruiter lied to me. A lot. Some of it I saw through and enlisted anyway, some of it I didn't and was a little disappointed when I found out how it really is. Disappointed for like an hour. If I were to go back and do it all over again, I probably would have chose the Navy... but the service I did pick was still a great experience and I don't regret it. Couldn't really go wrong with either.
If not for all the muck-raking going on in his personal circle -- including his HS coach trying to recruit him back to Michigan even now -- I have a feeling he wouldn't be that agitated either.

The recruiter lied to my father when he enlisted in 1939!
The motivations by the adults in these things will always be questionable. It's been that way forever.
Things will happen and it's what you do after that makes the difference! That's being an adult.

Mike Weber just got screwed into the best decision of his life.

Wilcher had better be careful. He seems eager to torch the bridge that's been built between Cass Tech and OSU now that his boy Harbaugh is back in AA, but when that experiment goes belly up like the last two HC hires have, he's still going to want a relationship with a regional powerhouse that he can send blue chip players to.

Indeed it seems like a lot of the "adults" that preferred he go to Michigan are fanning the flames of an upset kid rather then trying to calm him down for him to make a calm rational decision. Calm down the kid and give a little while then let him come to his own decision on how he wants to handle it. Just like he came to his own decision on NLOID.

Bingo. Who knows how broken up about it Mike really is right now? We have yesterday's tweet, but Urban has talked to him since then. Other than that, we have Wilcher's grandstanding that included the whole Urban needs to show "us" some respect. Wilcher's biased, to say the least, and seems to want to take full advantage of his 15 minutes of fame. If the guy really wanted what is best for Mike, he'd exit stage left until Mike asked for his help or advice. His decision to grandstand on radio shows is simply making this an even bigger circus.

I can say that Urban is still going to be knocking down the doors of Cass Tech every year regardless. I'm not so sure he is just flaming for the sake of it...Cass Tech kids who have OSU interest will have a ton of offers and we want to keep the pipeline flowing. Plus he has sent plenty of kids to OSU already without any type of drama until now. Really hoping this gets ironed out.
