RB Maurice Wells (Official Thread)

I wouldn't equate large pipes with high durability as a running back. Most division I-A running backs are going to have "assault and battery" arms. I would imagine that Lydell's pipes are at least that size. That being said, I hope we get this guy too.

Lydell is a monster.
i go running by his appt alot, hes out grilling all the time, and he is HUGE.
that being said, it has obviously not helped his durability.
it he stays healthy though, we will be better than fine at RB this year.

One of the things that Ilike about Lydell is that he has apparently responded to criticism, getting bypassed by a younger guy, etc., by working his ass off. My hope is that his durability issues have been flukes, and I agree with you that if he stays healthy this year, he's going to get the job done.

Anyone hitting the panic button yet?

Hopefully that's a Buckeye shirt he has on.

No, no panic button yet. And I have no idea what the confidence level is on this guy (in terms of whether he'll commit to Ohio State), but I hope he feels ready to make a decision relatively early, since the OSU coaches seem to have written off pursuing any other RB's seriously as long as he's still deciding.

He will announce on TV on NLOID. He could decide well ahead of his announcement. Recently HH assessed Wells' chances of deciding on OSU at 80%. I doubt OSU would promise a recruit exclusivity for a position, especially RB. If I were Wells, my main concern would be who is in the program ahead of me, not who was entering the program with me (except OL of course).
