I want to support smith403. There is no news that has not been discussed already in this thread. Why should we allow Maurice Clarett, guilty or not, to divert our attention from a game that we have all been wanting for a decade?
I hate to be graphic but these seniors, their football program, coaches, and administrators and their University have been defined by allegations by and about Maurice Clarett for too bloody long.
I don't know about you guys but I am going to celebrate the bowl game in other threads and forget about this. Let the chips fall where they may for Maurice Clarett. He was never a Buckeye anyway and whatever is said about him has no reflection on anyone at Ohio State.
On to Notre Dame!

I cannot even begin to comment on such a devastating personal tragedy MoC has become. I can only hope the Buckeye nation can forgive the past and pray for him to use this to turn his life around. As a human being, he is still worthy of that.

The saddest thing is that Tressel was still trying to help him turn his life around even after Clarett sued the university and tried to fuck over Tressel's program, and he still didn't listen. I hope this is a case of mistaken identity, but I'm not that optimistic.

Clarett, 22, who helped the Buckeyes win the national championship in 2002, fled when the bar owner or manager, who knew Clarett and the victims, came into the alley and identified him shortly before 2 a.m., detectives said.

Actually, Tibs, I only posted the ticker thing because earlier posts had mentioned that ESPN was referring to him as 'former Denver Bronco...'.

He cut ties with the Clarett's a while back. Even he saw the writing on the wall.
BTW, how much money does he owe attorneys for fighting the NFL's early entry rule?

He has to be in a ton of debt, which I would suspect is his primary motivation for committing robbery (and also hanging out with the wrong crowd). I cannot believe he wouldn't try to play in NFL Europe or the CFL just to make a salary and try to start fresh. I guess he won't be launching that lucrative boxing career.
