RB Maurice Clarett (B1G Freshman of the Year, National Champion)

I have to agree with everyone who says it is a shame he didn't play by the rules to begin with...and that's the problem, that nobody has basically made him follow the rules throughout, so why should he have thought this would be any different?

Shows the importance of role models during early development and discipline during early coaching.

FKA,

I didn't say that MoC's fight was something I think is right. It is something that HE thinks is right. I agree with you that it is a selfish desire -- and it looks like he's going to be shut out. It's just a shame he didn't play by the rules to begin with and finish out his career at OSU.
Amen. But like I said before, hopefully he learned something, or will learn something out of all of this, and even more hopefully he will become a better person for it.

There's no comparison between what Maurice is doing and what Rosa Parks did. Like FKA said, there is no comparison between fighting for something that is right and just and fighting because you're a spoiled brat and you want something for nothing. Compare that to something more similarly pointless and inane, like maybe the guy who sues fast-food chains because they make him fat, not something legitimate. That's lending creedence to what Maurice is doing and there is none. I have my friggin' Masters in journalism and I say that's bullshit....and you can quote me.

What made me think of Rosa Parks was the fact that someone on here mentioned something about always playing by the rules. When reading that, the first person to come to my mind was Rosa. If she had played by the rules, she would never have made the history books. End of comparison.
Rules are written by human beings, and it takes another human being to change them. Again, yes I think MoC is working entirely for selfish reasons but I'm not sure he's wrong for trying. I think someone would have eventually anyway. It's just a shame it had to be him.

Clarett? Anyone want him back?

After watching Clarett his freshman year, i thought his sophomore year would have put him into the Heisman hunt, and possibly help OSU to contend for another National Championship. But after seeing all the things he has done off the field the last year or so, I don't think I want to see him in the Scarlet and Gray.

Plus, OSU has Lydell Ross who towards the end of the year after become the #1 running back, i think he is going to have a hell of a year this coming up year. I was just curious to know anyone else's opinion...

Clarett is a talent, but with all of his excess baggage i think it would of held the team down...

opinions?
