Without Mo we aren't even playing in that game.stowfan;1350304; said:On my death bed, I will remember that play. How many players in the heat of battle would have the presence of mind to tackle the ball, and wrestle it back instead of just trying to stop the ball carrier? Without Mo we don't win that game.
We'll never know.redbenn;1350375; said:beanie has played hurt and put up big numbers against some really good defenses... mo cla had some great numbers, but most were put up against bad defenses... he was a key piece in the championship run, but was bottled up most of the day by miami's d... i'm not saying he couldn't have been one of the greatest, i just think beanie is better
and i had a few beers watchin football yesterday, so i am wondering what i wrote there too
And Pittman runs circles around Ross & Hall. Beanie would have started over those two as well.MoC was a TRUE freshman.. Beanie was splitting time as a frosh.
The OL doesn't have a similar benefit now? When MoC stepped onto the field, the offense played with a different energy. If anyone was at the 2002 M*ch*g*n game, you know what I'm talking about.
Clarett got OSU to the big one but wasn't very effective in it. Unbelievable play as a defender, but pedestrian day at RB (which is no sleight, that D was ferocious).Saying Beanie is better because he had bigger numbers is like arguing for the QB that never won the big one but won an MVP.
Beanie says that sounds familiar.IIRCC, the Miami D keyed on Mo at all costs.
Krenzel was hardly slow. Not a gazelle but he was very athletic.A slow Craig Krensyel (SP) was the leading rusher that night with 88 yards
I'm not sure it would've mattered if Jim Brown was back there against Miami, there was no where to run. His two touchdown runs were both very good despite how small the hole was he had. Miami had one hell of a defensive line as well and we were playing two true freshman on the offensive line. It felt similar to how Beanie had no place to go against Penn State this year although I felt Miami's defense was more suffocating against the run.redbenn;1350375; said:beanie has played hurt and put up big numbers against some really good defenses... mo cla had some great numbers, but most were put up against bad defenses... he was a key piece in the championship run, but was bottled up most of the day by miami's d... i'm not saying he couldn't have been one of the greatest, i just think beanie is better

Miami let up 4 100+yd rushers that yearBuckeye Nut;1350495; said:I'm not sure it would've mattered if Jim Brown was back there against Miami,
I agree, and I'm not college aged. "Best natural tailback I've ever seen" is an excellent way to describe MoC.Bleed S & G;1350397; said:Beanie is better.. IMO, only because MoC was a dipshit. MoC was the best natural tailback I've ever seen. Granted, I'm college aged.
MoC had "it."
