RB Master Teague (3rd Team All B1G)

IMO, Master's injury combined with the Sermon Transfer and Crowley coming into his own made Master almost a forgotten man. But a RB rotation with Sermon and Teague is a nightmare for opposing defenses and DCs, not to mention we can also throw Crowley out there as well and mix it up with McCall(I know I know we've been saying that for years) is almost unfair.

Agree. Teague has a lot of potential, and some were frustrated at his struggles against Clemson (not really fair IMO) but he compliments Sermon very well. He can provide the hammer in the RZ and 2nd half while also having great speed.

Hope he's close to recovered from his injury.

And maybe he isn't a starting caliber RB, maybe he's a rotational guy. That's not a bad thing when you have a team talented enough to have a great rotation.

The weirdness of this season has added to the drama between Teague and Sermon.

The resurrection of the season vindicating Sermon’s decisión to transfer combined with the delay giving Teague almost two extra months to heal. They’re both going to be champing at the bit.

This season feels so different now than it did 24 hours ago. I can’t even imagine how these two are feeling

Only 41 yards on 12 carries: however, it was a 2 TD day:

I think the key is to see Teague for himself, not as a replacement for Dobbins. He showed yesterday that he can batter opponents in the red zone, but there were two occasions when I think a runner with more lateral flexibility would have broken a much bigger and possibly game changing run. It is only the second game and there remains time for improvement. Well done.

He’s young and I could see him sticking around a while and becoming a mainstay in the RB stable and everyone knows what he brings to the team on the field and within the position group. What he does on the field can be very effective. He just needs a crazy shifty RB to compliment his style.

If his style is more like LenDale White, then he just needs a Reggie Bush to compliment him and that’s what he will have with TreVeyon Henderson next year.

RB Master Teague
Through one game, the Buckeyes run game didn’t seem to be working. But Ohio State made the massive leap forward between the first and second game of the year. That started with lead back Master Teague, who found his groove in having 23 carries, 110 yards and a touchdown run. He had a 31-yard run in the third quarter when Penn State was trying to make the game interesting, and he simply looked more comfortable in the backfield than he did a week ago. If that’s the Master Teague the Buckeyes will have in the backfield, the offense becomes more dangerous to defend.

TOMMY TOGIAI
  • On Saturday's performance: "Just working on my technique. Relying on my technique that I've been coached up by coach J over the years."
  • Togiai says he was surprised at the end of the night that he managed three sacks.
  • His pass rush: "I think it starts with the get-off." He says he tries to "always have a motor."
  • He says Jonathon Cooper and Tuf Borland "bring it every day" and are "unselfish."
  • Togiai says he tries to bring energy and his motor to "drive the defense."
  • He says he's been working on his speed since his freshman season, talking to the strength staff. He thinks it's paying dividends now. He's adjusted his running form.
  • Togiai says Haskell Garrett is playing at an "unbelievable" level.
  • He says he's as confident as ever about this interior defensive line. Thinks they can "do something special."
  • "I think at end spot, we have a lot of guys that go off, that are waiting to go off." He says Taron Vincent is "waiting to have a breakout game, as well."
  • Togiai says he and Garrett created a "close bond over the years." He thinks it helps them on the field. "That camaraderie and stuff like that will really bode well for us."
  • He says they want to stop the run then rush the passer afterward.
