Ohio State football notebook: Hall not likely to play
His injury leaves Buckeyes thin at running back

Ohio State coach Luke Fickell all but ruled running back Jordan Hall out of Saturday?s game against Indiana because of an ankle sprain.
Hall was injured on the 42-yard kickoff return that set up the Buckeyes? winning touchdown against Wisconsin.
?Jordan is probably doubtful,? Fickell said. ?I don?t think Jordan is going to make it. He hasn?t quite turned the corner with his ankle.?
With Jaamal Berry suspended indefinitely after being charged Wednesday with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct stemming from a Downtown altercation last month, the Buckeyes are once again thin at running back.
Daniel Herron will start. Carlos Hyde, who didn?t play last week and wasn?t used until late in the Illinois game, will be the backup.
Redshirt freshman Rod Smith, who has seen practice time at linebacker, remains primarily an offensive player, Fickell said, and would be third in line.
As for Berry?s eventual return to the team once his case is resolved, Fickell was noncommittal. Berry?s arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 1.
?I don?t know, and I?m not going to speculate on anything about that right now,? he said.
Berry and Hall have been the Buckeyes? primary kickoff returners. Chris Fields was one of the returners last week when Berry was held out of the game. Fickell said Herron and receivers Corey Brown and Devin Smith could also be used.
